We got treated to another Marvel (Halloween-ish) special a while back, Werewolf By Night. Doesn't mean you have to wait until next October to watch it. It did make a lot of fans of this format right away. Here's to hoping we do get some more like you said! The escapades of Drax and Mantis! They were hilarious!

So glad you watched this while it was relevant ✨ It's definitely fun... and James Gunn sure knows how to write comedy and pull heartstrings at the same time... I really liked that they gave Mantis a character in this one, considering she was just the side character in both the Avengers films and Guardians 2... It's like they gave her character some life and something of her own, if that makes any sense. And this whole thing was written only within a few hours, so it's pretty great that it turned out this awesome! This one works as a special, and it also sets up Guardians 3, with the fact of Mantis being Quill's sister revealed here, and them staying on Knowhere, which is pretty smart I'd say, that they put in details like that here so they don't have to spend time on explaining them in the movie All in all, they ended Phase 4 perfectly with this one, on a good and happy note!

This special was SO good!! Funny, weird, touching....just what you would expect from the Guardians of the Galaxy. I was tearing up at the end too. And the music! That first song is indeed a bop!! Great reactions as always, Addie, and that sweater and hat combo is very nice. Also, as someone else commented, I definitely encourage you to watch Werewolf by Night. It is fantastic! Kevin Bacon is now canon to the MCU :) Kevin's wife Kyra Sedgwick is now canon to the MCU. Kevin's friend Henry "The Fonz" Winkler is now canon to the MCU. Marvel is slowly (and cleverly) blending our world with MCU Earth 616. And it's awesome.

Timeline wise, this takes place after Thor: Love and Thunder but it doesn’t spoil anything from that film. For me, my favorite funny part is when the bullets were bouncing off Drax and he cracked up. We didn’t see Gamora in this special, but she will return in Volume 3 which hits theaters in May.

And she'll be leading the Ravagers instead of hanging with Quill, Nebula, and the other Guardians, since this Gamora is from the past. Not a spoiler, because it's literally what it says in the cast list on Wikipedia. I'm guessing that's happened in the comics, as well.

Fun reaction, Addie. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is definitely my favorite Marvel TV special. I enjoyed watching it with my girlfriend. This really is a moment of awesome for Drax & Mantis as they try to give Quill his best Christmas ever. It's also very funny to also see them steal Kevin Bacon and his Christmas decor as well. It was also very sweet when Mantis revealed that she's Quill's sister. This will also be on my holiday routine as well.

Fun fact: The movie that Kevin Bacon was watching, is real. It's Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964). Martians come to Earth to kidnap Santa Claus so that Martian children can learn what fun is. In the process, they also kidnap two human kids. It's as bad as it sounds.

Hi Addie!! I’m not sure if you know, but that is not Groot. Kevin Feige said in an interview that he grew FROM Groot, so he’s more like Groot’s son, which is why he looks different. It’s confusing because everyone else calls him Groot as well. His name probably isn’t even Groot. Since their language consists of three words, Groot could mean Frank. Or Ted. ☺️ Merry Christmas!🎄🎁

Nebula Had took at some point during Endgame after her and Tony was rescued by Captain Marvel i'm sure Nebula kept seeing Rocket get caught trying to steal Bucky's Arm while Bucky was Snapped away...so I'm sure after the Endgame Battle Nebula Found it in the Wreckage of Avengers HQ Building and kept it for a Future Trade with Rocket

Hey, Addie! "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" occupies its own niche like both Guardians films so seeing it out of sequence doesn't matter. The reveal of Mantis' familial tie to Peter is the big reveal necessary to know for the upcoming third film. Phase 4's release schedule was messy and lacked cohesion due to the 'Rona. I recommend proceeding through the content CHRONOLOGICALLY. The narrative makes much more sense that way. I also suggest that you familiarize yourself with Netflix "Daredevil" before seeing "Hawkeye" so you have a better appreciation for some of its revelations.. The reason Groot looks so different is that they're using an actor in a suit this time instead of CGI.
