They have shopping carts behind one-way doors inside the store, which means every time i have to circle around and go through an empty check-out line. I feel guilty for a different reason. I feel guilty when I go into small stores that are empty as I think the person who runs the store needs the money, they get the hope that the one person in the store (me) is about to buy something so they can feed their kid that night and then I just leave, dashing their hope and their kid going hungry that night. Completely irrational, but it is where my head goes when leaving a small store that is mostly empty.
