I really like how movable that is. No matter whether I move from the living room into the kitchen or the bathroom - it always works. Awesome.

The thing that I like about this guy is that he appears to have made all the same mistakes I am currently making, and has great tips on how to fix those mistakes. Also, Elixir strings are the bee's knees.

The bee's knees. I have never heard another person use this term except me. I picked it up from my Mom. Bees have tiny knees, too.

Just used the Sweetwater link to order a Deluxe Combo 65 preamp pedal! I don't buy a lot of gear, but I always give Sean a cut!

The thing that held me back for ages was not realising that the space between B & C and E & F was a semi-tone. Edit: I should rephrase it - my guitar epiphany was realising that the space between B & C and E & F was a semi-tone.

You taught me about arpeggios years ago. I recently found myself in a band situation where I need to play bass on a bunch of songs. Arpeggios are pretty much all I do on the bass and they sound great.

I just learned my major triads across the Fret board for each key. Way more clarity than just the cage system. It’s crazy to see other ways to learn the fretboard but it all stems from the basic major chords. Effective Pratice.

Ok. I shall do a chord up one string to see the spacing. It is a leap to want to learn the notes hidden in chord shapes. Our teacher just made it easier by putting the notes in their basic sequence.

Great lesson…now…doing it is the hard part. BTW, I just put Elixers on my guitar, and they’re terrific…so easy to play, and quiet 😊

I've actually been waiting for a video like this. Just a question which may sound stupid but; when guitarists use sweep picking in a song, are they typically sweep picking the arpeggios of each chord of the chord progression?
@biglar769
@biglar769 Жыл бұрын
Hey Sean is this a good way to learn to sweep picking. I understand the concept and love playing arpeggios but just cant seem to get my picking and fretting hands to sink up. If I were to do these exercises would that help me?

ok, this has been driving me crazy...a major chord is 135. A minor chord is 13(half step doWN)5. A minor7 is a minor chord with the 7 added. However A 7 CHORD AND A MAJOR 7 CHORD ARE NOT! WTF? Example: if you could show the difference between an A7 and an Amaj7 and WHY that would be great,
@ТимофейТарасенко-ч5с
@ТимофейТарасенко-ч5с Жыл бұрын
Hi! A maj7 chord consists of a major triad + major seventh. And a 7 chord consists of a major triad + minor seventh. For example, Amaj7 is AC#EG# and A7 is AC#EG. Hope this helps
@BlindPidePiper
@BlindPidePiper Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah, I get that. My real question was in the naming convention where a Minor7 is just a minor with the 7th added but a maj7 and a 7 differ. Why are C and Cmaj different is my real questionI guess. @@ТимофейТарасенко-ч5с

@@BlindPidePiper C and Cmaj are the same chord. Sometimes instructors will just say "C" while others might add in the "maj" which can cause confusion for beginners because it sounds like two different chords.

@@stevegunn9971 Yeah, I got that C and Cmaj are the same. However, C7 and Cmaj7 are not. Why are they different? (not how)
