A very fine win by Gukesh. Great Kalashnikov analysis as ever. Thanks Daniel.

A sign of what is to come in the WCC? Will the Kalashnikov be Gukesh's main tool to challenge Ding if he plays e4? To be continued...

Nice game by Gukesh, did not know he was part of the Kalashnikov club. Now I like him even more! :) GM King's Chessable courses on the Kalashnikov and Anti-Sicilian complement each other incredibly well. I own both. Also have the Kalashnikov book. You can't go wrong if you decide to purchase any of them. My last two games online in rapid were a Kalashnikov against a 2250 and a Smith Morra against an IM. Both wins by following the recommendations of GM King in his courses/book. I didn't even have to really think in the Kalashnikov game. After exiting one of the mainlines in a position I had never played before, I played the first move that came to mind and won easily. Of course, I spent time double checking the soundness of the moves tactically, but the strategic concepts came from the courses/book. So when exit theory, you know the ideas and what to look for.

Thanks Daniel for bringing this game to us. For the last 55 years I played Taimanov and frequently reached a very similar position to the one in the game. At the final position, instead of 1....e3, my thought was 1....Ng3 right away

I don't think you are as good as Gukesh. :P 1... N-g3 2 pxN either pxg3 3 Rxg3 pxg3 4 Kxg3 This is an ending where white has a B +4p vs B a R+2. Material is level and it isn't clear to me who is better. Gukesh's line just checkmates.

GM King makes a bid to be a second on Gukesh's team for December! You saw it here first. Daniel make sure your passport is up to date hehe.

Very instructive and convincing, making the Kalaschnikov the excellent weapon in the e4-opening. So, Mr. King, I think I'll order your book as well.

Hmmm. Not many Sicilian variations where Black is ahead in development. Pretty tempting. Love the enthusiastic analysis.

With my negative 200 ELO rating, I appreciate your cadence being slower than some other chess channels. Even though you voice is at a more leisurely pace, your brain is firing fast and accurately. Thank you for all your videos. I am a casual chess fan, and haven’t read your books, but if your books are like your videos, then they are a must have for serious chess creatures.

Daniel I was surprised at Nf6 after the exchanges on d5. I would have expected f5 to start the steamroller sooner. I thought Nf6 was a bit slow as it blocks in the f pawn

Hidden poison! With the Queens off, and so few pieces on the board, White could very easily fail to consider the possibility of a mating attack.

My brother-in-law introduced me to your channel back in 2018 & i love watching your videos when i get a chance (single dad now)... I have a query if I may. Have you ever done a video that looks at some of the archaic or culturally different chess peices that are not played today/ in the usual chess games? I was always intrigued by the variant peices & boards from the CHESS VARIANTS web-site & was curious to what you thought of some of them. I know a lot are 'home brew' & probably a little beneath you - but I am curious on your opinion on those cultural or historical variations.
