I did the same. First I bought the GW-9400-1BER all black Rangeman and then got the desert camo bezel and strap. Looks very tactical when I go buy some groceries.

I thought I was the only one that did this, LoL! The 9400-1 and 9400-DCJ are almost identical, minus the silver dial next to the set button and the bezel screws. No hate on the 9400-DCJ, owning an official one will retain its market value, but I'm not into that, I actually wear my watches. I'd much rather by the OG 9400-1, and just stick the DCJ bezel and strap on it like demonstrated in this video. Casio should have done a little more with the dial of the module, to give each variant their own distinctive look. Anyway, I'm glad they were lazy, making minimal changes to the dial of the module, because that allowed me to do this upgrade 🤣

No one has commented on what you did wrong in this video. It appears that you attached the straps to the wrong sides of the watch. The buckle should be on the top side of the watch. Nice video. I am planning to purchase The Rangeman as my first G-Shock. I own several watches, but have never owned a G-Shock. It should be a handy tool watch for hunting in the Rocky Mountains.

5:53 my sensor cover rattles in the bezel. Have you ever come across that ? My watch is like a rattle toy.

Yes it's when you have the sensor not correctly fitting, it's best to put the bezel with the sensor part of the bezel faces down so gravity will hold the sensor cover in place when you put the module inside the bezel, definitely would annoy me having a watch that rattles . Best to just take bezel off and refit the watch.

Also you could flip the film to invert your display colors as well

Two things I noticed that could be better in what you did, if I may: 1. did you use a JIS screwdriver? I believe that Casio use JIS screws and 2. You could use a non marring tool to remove the bezel screws.

I'm actually not 100% sure , I did get a bunch in my skx mod kit to work on my Casio Royale mod possibly they are ? I'd have to look into it further. Ah yes non marring tool is a great idea might have to buy some, I want to buy a whole tool kit for all my mods and gshock work oh and also a gasket lubricator ! Thanks man appreciate the feedback 😃

Start taking out the bezel from the right side (the sensors button side) would not mess up with the sensor's protection, when disassembly. Btw, nice mod - it's been sitting in my mind for some tine now, but my budget looks more towards the gw-9400y..

That's true! , it looks amazing, perhaps you could spread out the purchases? Buy the band slowly, it quite quickly became one of my favorites after this mod 🤩 The stars are your limit never give up 🤝

The Rangeman is one of the finnest G-Shock, the best one of the triple sensor modules to me. But I don't like this colour combination 🤷

Why don’t you clean it with water and mild soap, they’re water resistant so no problem..

Yeah you can definitely do that, but I had some laying around and I love how quick I can clean it and I don't have to wait for it to dry before getting right back into the mod. 😁 I love the speedy quick dry. Thanks for your comment 🙂
