I'm Paediatric Ventilation Nurse, bronch babies are my daily bread and butter. I reassure parents every day that everything will be fine but watching you telling the story from a parent perspective just made me cry a lot! RSV is very common in the winter season so please please don't blame yourself, you haven't done anything wrong, you are an amazing loving mother ❤ Take time to rest and recover. Thank you for sharing your story and spreading awareness.

Oh my goodness what an awful and scary time you’ve had 😢 All my babies are adults now but I went through a scary time too when one of them was a baby. He is now a strong and strapping 18 year old! Sending you a big hug ❤

I know how scary this can be, iv had baby in resus with sepsis and it’s sooo hard and painful to watch, and feel helpless. My twins also suffer with asthma and get hospitalised a lot. Glad he’s on the mend. And don’t doubt yourself we can only ever do what we believe is best at the time. ❤

I wish I could hug you. Thank the Lord that you’re home and it ended the way it did. I’ve been there and it’s grim. I’ve realised that the most frightening thing in the world is a doctor that looks frightened. We nearly lost our daughter when she was 4 and I look back and can only put it down to a miracle that we didn’t. Please be really gentle on yourself. Events like these leave their marks on our hearts and it took a really wise GP and the support that he offered as well as some trauma therapy to help me heal. It will take time but you will put this behind you. As a Christian sahm myself I’m praying for you and your family my love. 🤗 Claire x

.so scary yes my son 17 now born in Sept was a bronchu baby at 3 months exactly same as your storey thinking everything OK mucus coming up with feed etc ending up on c pap and thankfully he recovered quickly but I will never forget it watching his tummy working so hard to breath but he doesn't remember and nor will your little man, but I did have separation anxiety after this and I think he was 11 when he finally slept in his own room especially when he got cold or cough again growing up I wanted him next to me and would stay awake watching his every breath😂 so no don't think what if your amazing mom and just carrying on on the up my son hardly ever gets bad cough or cold now he built his amenity and thankgod is healthy now ❤❤❤❤

The doctor waa telling you the truth when she said they probably would have sent him home. My 4mo had rsv at 4 weeks old and the childrens hospital tried to send her home but a couple of hours later she deteriorated and ended up staying for 8 days on oxygen. Its hard to tell when they are that small. Try not to beat yourself up about it even doctors get it wrong sometimes. Glad to hear he is on the mend x
