Here is an idea for part 2: Miku Cytus 2 collab, this is simple, Cytus 2 made a collab with Miku by adding her as a character (not canon to Cytus but she has her own story), she was a limited time DLC and is unknown if she is coming back. edit: another collab is with Brave Frontier.
@rynnewav3 жыл бұрын
@@bog4612 Interesting! I heard of the Cytus 2 DLC but I was unaware there was a story behind it and from what I could find online it seems quite heavy in it's subject matter, it seems interesting and I definitely would like to discuss it. As for Brave Frontier, unfortunately their doesn't seem much to talk about regarding it unless there's a story in the game/an interesting history behind getting Miku in the game. Thank you for mentioning these and offering your recommendations! :)

Ngl, I teared up a bit at Miku crying during her speech. Human emotions are nuts, I'm fully aware she's just a voice bank, but despite knowing that, it still pulled at my heart strings. But c'mon, they did such a good job animating her crying, even getting her voice to sound wobbly and adding hiccups. They did an amazing job making a 2D model look and sound so emotional. Crazy how easily attached we can get it to things even when their not real.

I think the reason she is “weaboo bait” is because the style she’s mostly drawn in is similar to that of anime.
@fuckuifureadthisokay3 жыл бұрын
I think it's because she was the first in Crypton's Character Voice series (so she was voiced by a voice actress doing a voice, not just a person singing in their natural voice) and also the first VOCALOID in general to lean into popular anime aesthetics at the time. MEIKO and KAITO are both kind of anime but their original boxes don't scream 2006 otaku anime characters to me. I don't think it's a coincidence that the fandom blew up so heavily shortly after Miku's release, and I also don't think it's a coincidence that the MEIKO songs that were getting popular around that time mostly tuned her to sound less like digitised Meiko Haigou and more like a loli character in an anime.

13:56 no, it's not polkka is the czech republic folk dance, this song is about it, not polka (with singular k) as a polish woman
@rynnewav3 жыл бұрын
My apologies for the typo, I’ll be sure to list the proper spelling. As for the song’s origin, the vocaloid wiki states that the song itself is set to a traditional Finnish melody and Loituma is actually a Finnish band (which I actually got wrong in the video which Im now realizing.) Therefore I’m led to believe the song is not Polish but rather Finnish. You are also correct that the polkka is a dance that originated from the Czech Republic. I imagine the song itself probably takes inspiration from the style of the Polkka hence the title? I think this may be the case since the Polkka had started around from 1800 to 1900 and the lyrics to Ievan Polkka were printed in 1928 with the composer stated to be Eino Kettunen (who was a Finnish composer and lyricist), so this may make sense in regards to the timeline of events. www.finna.fi/Record/jykdok.1286293

I think the real story behind "Miku made Minecraft" was that Notch was receiving severe backlash for some rather insensitive stuff (can't remember the details), not even being a part of Minecraft's 10th anniversary. This leadt to fans somewhat jokingly removing the controversy by ditching notch and claiming that Minecraft was made by Hatsune Miku This became a running joke where any controversial figure (like J.K. I expected you to mention "Akari Oborozuka" who is a well known character from "The Onibi" which is a Vocaloid Song Series made by - Masa works design - and She was portraited by Miku with other 2 characters of the same series, and other 1-3 characters from other series also made by - MASA works DESIGN - P.S: I think most people know Akari from her appearance in "The Fox's wedding" a song in "The Onibi" Series, The series itself is pretty underrated but the song itself is Masa's most popular one even though it was a remake

hi! small corrections here, i'm sorry! at around the 13-14 minute mark, you mispronouced miku saying "maiku okay" (mic okay) to "miku okay!" you also said that ievan polka was originally from poland, which isn't true. it's actually from finland BUT i appreciate this video a lot! its very cool.
@rynnewav3 жыл бұрын
Hello! Ievan Polkka being from Finland was already corrected and was stated in the correction’s list. Also I said “Miku okay” because the topic involved the question as to whether before Viva Happy if Miku said “Mic okay” or “Miku okay”, it was intentional and as for what Miku had actually said “Mic okay” has also ready joined the corrections. Thank you for the compliment! :D

I remember seeing that one video essay years ago (I won't mention the KZbinr name, but once you read my confession story, you probably know who it is) about MEMEME music video, Then later he said that "MIKU and Moe characters cause about NEET and control you" I was distraught and ended up not listening to Miku, I was ashamed of myself. After watching your video on that part 'its not illegal, you should be able to like it and be proud of" I feel better and uplifted, Don't worry though, I still continue on what I love like still continues to watch some Moe shows that relaxed me and of course I got back to listening to some Miku songs again for nostalgia. Sorry about this very dump silly story, It had been stuck in my mind for years, and wanted to get this off my chest to share this with you and to thank you for this video!
@rynnewav3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad my words were able to make you feel more comfortable with liking Miku again! :) I really like the overarching message behind ME!ME!ME! I'm not an expert on preventing someone from becoming a NEET, but I think a healthy moderation between irl life & anime/games and not letting Otaku culture take over one's life can help prevent from taking on the NEET lifestyle.
@rubberduckie11043 жыл бұрын
Sorry of its rude of me to ask by what exactly is a NEET? just curious
@rynnewav3 жыл бұрын
@@rubberduckie1104 Hi! A NEET is an acronym for "Not in Education, Employment, or Training." More often than not, it's usually someone who prefers to stay home and focus on anime & games than have a social life or a job Edit: I'm pretty sure that's it, but I could be getting the definition confused with hikikomori

22:04 while there isn't a Miku anime there is, technically, a Vocaloid anime. Or a donghua, i guess. Vsinger, formerly Vocaloid China Project and Vocanese, had a bunch of animations produced to promote the designs that won from the drawing contest where the vocaloid designs were taken from. Also, i believe the "Miku Formula" actually first became prevalent during Luo Tianyi's contest? I may be wrong. The anime only features Tianyi, Ling, Longya, Moke and Qingxian, though. YANHE, the design from the second contest they held was not in it due to controversy. Furthermore, with the exception of again, Yanhe, all of the vsingers have personalities. Although i believe, like the Crypton loids, they've been moved into another synthesizer. Last i heard, Shanghai HENIAN was waiting for their contracts with Yamaha to finish in order to move the vsingers into SynthV. One of Shanghai Henian's Vocaloids, Xingchen, more known as Stardust, has been moved to synthv. Although her voice provider is different due to contractual issues with her original provider. I haven't caught up with Vocaloid since the Hime and Mikoto came out for V5, so i might be a bit outdated on this. Edit; After a quick surf through my Amino account, It seems only Stardust is to be moved. Apparently, back in february of 2020, vsinger's voicebank producer confirmed a V5 update for Ling and YANHE on weibo. Im not sure if they've released, but i believe a song testing Yanhe's voicebank was released on bilibili for either an anniversary or a birthday.

This was a great iceberg! Most of this is pretty basic info within the grand scheme of Vocaloid, but considering there's like, 80 of them at this point, and its a Miku focused iceberg it could make a good introduction for newer fans.
@augg10913 жыл бұрын
Also, after a few minutes of thinking, i personally would've added Nyan Cat, Black Rock Shooter and Louis Vuitton. Also, the whole numbering system like Miku being CV01 and Luka being CV03

Thank you so much! :D I agree, this iceberg is very much "Vocaloid and Hatsune Miku 101: the basics" lol

there are rumors that crypton is making a miku anime based off of the fan manga Hatsune Mix which includes all the Cryptonloids and guest appearences from some Internet Co loids. It was announced this February but nothing else has come out yet.
