In the early 1970's, Clara and Phil Dandy thought they found their ideal country house in Hinsdale, New York. The 100-year-old home was surrounded by dense isolated woods. The first few weeks in the house were quite serene. But one day, they began to see strange translucent figures roaming around the woods. Next, they began to hear strange noises. Screams, eerie noises at all hours of the day and night. It only escalated from there and the family was disturbed as they began to experience supernatural phenomenon not only in the woods, but in their house as well. Hello, Avery. Paul Kenyon here. I am one of a handful of surviving witnesses to the original exorcism which took place on April 13, 1974. Last evening on my Dandy House page on Facebook, we held a question & answer livestream session. There is so much misinformation surrounding the house, the Dandy family's experiences, and added folklore, that I felt it very important I stay at the forefront and continue correcting the statements about the family and house. What I say is in no way a knock to anyone's story telling. I only offer the necessary corrections to said stories at the request of Clara. There is no child named Tina in the Dandy family. Mike, Beth Ann, Laura and Mary are their childrens' names. The crawl space is ABOVE the stairs, not under the stairs. There are absolutely no hallways in the Dandy House. During Alex Tanous's first visit to the home, he assessed there were 7 spirits within the house. This was in the fall of 1973. When he returned in 1974, he reported just one spirit. Accompanying Alex on this second visit, when the exorcism/house cleansing took place, was a group of 7 NYU students who filmed the exorcism on April 13, 1974, and interviews on April 14. Father Al did not return on the 14th. After the Dandy moved out, MANY people moved in, but usually for a very short time. However, long before Dan Klaes purchased the property, Flo and Joe Misnik purchased the home and lived there for over TWO DECADES. Flo made an announcement as she stood in the kitchen declaring, "We know there are spirits here, but this is now our home, and we're not leaving." Joe Misnik passed away August 21, 2010. His wife Flo passed a short two months later on October 24, 2010. I and some friends stood guard at the house for several months until the home was purchased. I was offered to purchase the house, but declined. Today, I stand guard in an all together different way, to get Clara's story told accurately. Avery, I could listen to you all day. Perhaps you'd audition to read my last novel for Audible?
