My hubby and myself were keto for 3 yrs, got to our goal weights and my husband came off metformin and we have maintained our lifestyle as low careers for the last year so total carb watchers for 4 years. I buy nothing that has any type of sugar on ingredients unless it is allulose, stevia, monk fruit or Erythritol. Secondly, we use only olive oil or avocado oil as a secondary. This was a depressing eye opener. I wish my sister would watch this. Her son has been raised on fast food, sugar sweetened sodas, diet soda. I mean fast food every day. He doesn’t like any Veggie's. I’ve changed the way we eat here since I’ve been following you. My mother lives with my sister and her dementia has gotten so much worse. We rarely eat out. I grow most of our veggies but that doesn’t last the year. I wish we could regulate these companies so our food isn’t so bad here. Here I’m thinking a glass of fresh squeezed OJ is giving me health food boost. 😟 thanks for the info

Well, regulation only does so much. One problem is that there seem not to be sufficient time to try out new products and proceduren to make sure they're harmless. Be it food, pesticids in foodproduction. Since they mention endocrine issues there have been Huge changes in out home environment in our homes the past 50 years or so. I read an interview in the magazine for the Swedish Homeowners Association with an engineer from the Chemichal inspektion and she pointed out that it's perhaps more important to tidy Up around the floors, especially of we have kids or pets, this for residues from the antiflammables our electronics, hometextile etc are drenched in, as they evaporate they attach to dustparticles. And we havve so much syntetiska in our homes that we have several minutes less to get out in case of a fire compared to the beginning of the 1950s.

I also think many plant based/vegan foods are being marketed as healthy. But now there are so many highly processed, sugary, refined oil containing foods that are vegan. Previously a vegan food was literally just beans, lentils, nuts, seeds and vegetables/fruit. Sadly many people see the word "vegan" and automatically think its healthy. It's the same with "low carb/keto" and "gluten free"

Hi - Look into the GL of your mix. Bananas can be high in sugar depending on the yellowness of the fruit, so how yellow or speckled with brown spots are they?. Is your almond milk sweetened? Berries - all good. Steel-cut oats are the least processed form, whereas rolled oats, or oat flakes, undergo more processing and flattening through steel drums. 😀

Real whole food mostly. Avoid processed. use extra Virgin olive oil, I also use Coconut Oil. cruciferous vegetables. real foods. Basically anything that's found in nature. I like eggs Bec they have a ton of nutrition. Grass fed meats. If you eat meat. I use a lot of spices and pink salt for flavor. (Avoid spices with salt) Avoid fat free foods. They just aren't as good and often have extra sugar or something for flavor. I like full fat. Think yogurt. That often uses fat free. (Takes out the flavor) fat isn't bad in itself. That was a myth. We need fat just not unhealthy fats. Just as we don't need sugar. I avoid grapes Bec of all the sugar. I do eat kiwi, strawberry, raspberries, basically all the less sugar dense foods, and Fatty fish.

So, I stopped that altogether. I personally use whey protein as supplemental for protein. Gotta watch those sugar dense fruits. I personally eat walnuts and pistachios. FOR snacks. My diet is kind of strange. I've always just winged it & made it up based on researching. Often eat the same things. Slightly varying here and there. Big on herbal and supplementing. Trial and error type stuff. Based on my trying to correct different issues over the years. Including prevention of age related health issues, eczema, sleeping problems, of course my immune system, keeping my heart healthy. Jeesh. I don't know, it any of it actually works. Frying in any oils changes the oils. It oxidizes them. Unless it's an animal oil like ghee, suet or lard. any lards today are partially hydrogenated. They are damaged too. Olive oil is cut with seed oils and all oils from plants no matter how pure start to oxidize in the bottle. The ones you mention are better than all other plant based oils but still a no go for me. I'm strict carnivore. I make sure a restaurant uses no plant based oils on my steak. Only butter or ghee for me. But better still just grill my meat with no oils.

I would say the oil being used is that matters more and how the oil is used. Restaurant oil is used and used all day molecules will do their thing leading to nasty molecules you don’t want in your system. Those same molecules were just regular old fatty acids used to cook before being put through heat punishment like that. Your kitchen cooking does not destroy the oil like that.

So much good info but wrong on fruit juice....I know few believe that God created anything but actually He knew what we need. Bad bacteria hates pineapple and pineapple juice. Fruit sugar processed differently from processed sugars. Love you both and 99.9 per cent of everything...
@conchadeconchos Жыл бұрын
I’m interested in that, the sugar part, I believed that as well and things like diet soda sugar is even worser because your tricking your body. But yesterday in one this guys videos he mentions all sugar are the same “carbohydrate” in the sense of how it is digested. I also thought fruit sugar was “healthy” sugar and easily digested compared to processed sugar. But upon reflection and his video technically they are the same molecule therefore producing the same effects as finding that molecules in a random box or more commonly a sugary fruit. (Btw I am talking about sugar as in “glucose” a broad definition of table sugar or aka sucrose) I don’t disagree that pineapple has anti-microbial effects, but I would say that is due to acidity of fruit itself and a combination of anti oxidants, for example lemon juice can be used like germ-x ( anti bacterial, kills then instantly. Although you’ll get sticky hands as well from sugar) But to summarize no you are not digesting fruit sugar different than the added sugar in a soda can, it is in a much less quantity while also getting the benefits of the minerals in the plants. Not to mention fiber for your gut bacteria, which was his point juicing fruit reduces fiber intake than just eating the fruit itself. I’m not sure if you miss out on the benefits tbh that point he confused me. It does not make sense to lose nutrients from separating the liquid in a fruit from the carcass of a fruit shell.
