Greenwood was my mom hometown, she was born in Sidon, small town outside of Greenwood. I have many family members still live there. Greenwood was a horrible town to live in during the 60's on back, because of the racism. Horrible to live in just like all of the small rural towns during those times.

youthchoir1 what are you talking about horrible place to live in the 60s my grandfather told me that none of the civil rights or being horrible to blacks happened there.

Sorry but Greenwood was the worst of all. I think changes are slowly happening, but they still have a long ways to go. Love my home town. One thing about Greenwood, the people still have a lot of love. Even though they have been through a lot in their life time. What amazing is, every little small town within 50 miles of Greenwood have gotten bigger and Greenwood is still slow to change. Praying G,wood.

I loved the movie I used to live in Indianola, MS and went to church and sang in the choir at First Pres My great grandfather was a a minister there in the 1800s.. . I stayed 'til the end of the movie to see where it was filmed. It looked familiar. i loved eating at the Crystal Grill. I wonder if anyone I knew was an extra.

Very nice, informative and interesting video. I'd love to find a print of the picture/painting on the wall of the dog who looks like he's about to step out of that picture at the 4:55 mark. It looks almost like it's in 3-D. Anybody know the name of it or who the artist is?

Michael Hittson His name is William Dunlap. That image is on magnets, prints and other things I assume.

I grew up in Greenwood and found the movie fascinating, especially since my neighbor was the one who eventually was charged and found guilty of murdering Medgar Evers.

At first I thought the movie would take black people down a road they didn't want to revisit. I was wrong and pleasantly surprise. The cast was great and I believe Oscars will be awarded. My favorite was Octavia and that pie. Giving a pie to a white women back then took a lot of guts and unbelievable courage. The movie was great.

I think they should have help build Greenwood up bc they made 20 million off the movie and didn't give the ppl not one dime for using Greenwood.....it's a damn shame how ppl use others lives /houses to become rich...sad but true Greenwood look like a ghost town

Your full of shit. The revenue built a school, a mini clinic, 4 groceries stores, a shop drop for children's winter and holiday toy drive, and town hall office for neighborhoods to post needs and to donate. Over 2.4 million went there!!!
