There are some cases in which the death sentence is right, imo

100% agree The only issue imo is it takes to long, take for instant the lastest guy to be executed which happened last week, he waited 30yrs on death row....30 years what a joke, i think there should be a 5yr MAXIMUM wait, why are we waiting 20, 25, 30+++ years to carry out justice??

@@CourtneyTunbridge79 Probably 30 years is a long time to wait before execution. But at the same time, I feel like that person needs some time to realize what is going to happen to them and what they're about to loose, for ever. Especially if they have family outside and important events are happening, but they can't be part of them. It's like having two punishments in one.

Therr are simply some offences that are so heinous that the perpetrator does not deserve to breathe the same air as the rest of humanity, thats the way i see it. If anything, imo it takes too long, yes there is a handful of cases where the punishment is doled out real quick but in 99% of DP convictions the condemned person usually gets to live for another 20, 25 30++ years before even receiving their punishment, i think that absolutely needs to change, 5yrs MAXIMUM imo.

Totally agree with you...I'm thinking after they are tried and convicted and thereof sentence to death and wave any rights if any of said appeal🤔then they should have only 3 months to get their affairs in order with the family and after that three months on that 1st day of said month they should be put to death🤔why should tax payers have to continue to foot the bill of these death row inmates for 20/30 years just to be released back in the general population of the prison system getting a life sentence instead😏 it's a slap in the face to the families that has to go through it😔 just saying....

A very wise man once said "The death sentence could only be necessary when either despite being captured and punished (mind you, this is spoken about in a setting in which democracy and laws have come crumbling down) a person still has so much power, connections and wealth to pose an actual threat to an entire nation, or if the death of one person could stop all others from committing crimes." We know the second case could never be true, and even without considering the state in which the author of these thoughts supposed the nation should be to make a death sentence viable, the second is mostly hypothetical and destined to very few and far between cases. Hence, we have no need for the death sentence. I'd argue that heavy labor would be more effective as a way to redeem criminals (which might I remind people, is what prisons are supposed to do).

I have just liked the comment which said the death penalty is justified in certain cases. And I did agree with it, until I read your comment. Myra Hindley and Ian Brady for example. However, and I am from the UK where the death penalty doesn't exist, I think you are right. They should be made to live the rest of their lives in hard labour, it would be far more fitting. I also do not think Eileen Wournos deserved the death penalty when others who have done far more heinous crimes than her (without her back story), have been allowed to live. Sorry, bit of an essay...

Wait he was taken hostage to forced labor on a ship, killed his captors and somehow justice was served by hanging him. Okay I guess.

I dated a guy from Iran 🇮🇷. All he did was complain about the United States, and how much he hated it. I told him if things are so good and you are on. Why did you come here go back. I stopped dating him because I couldn’t deal with his attitude, but I found out a year later he became an American citizen. I guess he felt it wasn’t so bad here after all🥹🥹
