Welcome to part 1 of the History of Escape from Tarkov, The Origins of Tarkov! We start at the beginning, the VERY beginning, in 2010, with a company called Absolut Soft and their development of a browser-based game known as Contract Wars. This was our first look into the universe of Russia 2028, the world in which Contract Wars, Hired Ops, and eventually Escape from Tarkov would reside in. We talk about the lore of the Norvinsk Special Economic Region, Tarkov, the Terragroup Corporation, and the USEC and BEAR private military contractor organizations. We then dig into the initial teaser cinematic and gameplay trailers, and experience some of the pre-alpha gameplay, closed alpha experiences, and early beta gameplay between v0.1 and v0.2. Much more to come in the future - can't wait to share it with you all!

I join tarkov in january of 2017. My early memories where of people complaining about how laggy shoreline was after they added the resort. The only thing I miss is the old players. Back then it was sold as a tense and tactical FPS. The meta now is shift+W with 3-4 man squads. I'm hoping inertia helps slow things down and covers up some of the netcode issues.
@luked4043
@luked4043 2 жыл бұрын
I like it the way it is. Just wait for the dumbasses to sprint by and not even hear you and then pop them in the back. Now the squads thing is kinda disappointing. Sometimes as a solo or duo you just have zero chance if the enemy is slightly competent

16:38 WHY DO WE KNOT HAVE THIS. Mag retention reloads would make it so much better without having to keep a mag slot open all the time just for changing mags without it dropping on the ground
@MortalMilka
@MortalMilka 2 жыл бұрын
I think it is doable or even in the codes already but that would mean that you need 3 separate reload "button" because there would be 3 different speed for the 3 reload. What could they do is to only do this kind of 3 step reload if you don't have room in your vest to begin with, but as it was said many times Tarkov rewards preparedness. In reality I wouldn't use this method if avoidable to reload I'd rather buy an other Molle mag pouch or something like that depending on your gear setup if I want an extra mag (I use low cap mags in Airsoft), in Tarkov you just use a 1 double slot bigger vest if you really need an extra mag. Edit: I realized that both mag retention reload is 3 steps but holding and manipulating the 2 mag at the same time makes it a bit harder which is unnecessary if you have an empty pouch already.
@josephrosenbaum3343
@josephrosenbaum3343 2 жыл бұрын
@@MortalMilka doesn't need to be that complex. It can either replace the tactical reload animation all together or you can use the new reload with weapon mastery. To your point of making it being more difficult. It actually isn't, it's about how you're holding the mag. It may be different with the AK mags but with the AR mags using the L method it's very easy, and it puts the mag you're pulling out of the gun easy to put into the mag pouch. It's an overall much smoother of a method and more space conscious. Faster is debatable, up to how proficient you are in reps
@bryangoodwin6579
@bryangoodwin6579 2 жыл бұрын
@@josephrosenbaum3343 They can also make it mag specific, only the more expensive mags can retention reload.
@MortalMilka
@MortalMilka 2 жыл бұрын
@@josephrosenbaum3343 It would be a nice perk for a new mag drill skill, or even weapon mastery ( I heard it just get reworked a bit) so you could have the normal reload speed but you could have extra stuff in your pouch. It would really reward the time you put behind a weapon platform. I agree with the speed depending on your training thats why I wrote that it's only a bit harder, by that I meant that maybe more thing that can happen, like one of the 2 mags slipping or things like that, but if you have it down to muscle memory it would only be a problem if you are in some really high stress and wet/muddy or something like that situation. I think my opinion comes from my gear and the rules I have to play with thats why I thougth at first that it would be more difficult. I have fastmag pouches for AR so I can pull out and put back my mag with one hand without looking so the retention is easy so I don't use drop pouches so I just found it easier to have 1 mag in the hand at a time. And because of the rules when out of the game we have to have clear and unloaded weapons I would have to put the extra mag somewhere :D And I have stubby 20 round magazines with with wider bottom for better grip(even wider than a Pmag), I will try out if I can do a proper L hold on them later. You gave me something to work on :)

This video brought back so many great memories and really shed light on Tarkov's early development. I've been playing since mid- 2018 and all I can say is that I can't wait for part 2. I agree with every statement made in the video and it reminded me of some key elements of the game that I've forgotten about. Escape From Tarkov is still my favorite game and I can not wait to see how it changes in the future.

My absolute favorite thing about this game is the care and attention to detail they put into the animations and modeling of their guns.

I always come back to rewatch these videos because they are so nostalgic to my first wipe and I’m positive these kinds of videos about Tarkov kept me from quiting the game

the early gameplay you showed makes me so nostalgic. not that i played the alpha or anything, i actually first played in like 2019. but the way he reacted to sounds, movement, distant gunfire, exploration of the maps, etc. feels just like it did when i first loaded in

Refreshing! Although juggernauts like Deadlyslob have been public about being there from the start, I never knew Dan The Man Gheesling was there too! Lvl 32 taking a week of grinding. Oh boy, how things have changed. Deadly's joke with Christmas Putin cracked me up, he's always such a fun guy

As someone who watched videos for a long time before getting my own copy of Tarkov at the end of 2017, I can say for sure, It's been a hell of a ride so-far and, I can't wait to see where it will lead, going forward! Thank you for putting this series together, it's good for those new to the game, but also as a reminder from whence we came. Also, the stutters of 2018, may they never return!

Tarkov USED to have such good fun gunfights. Now u can't even control the recoil on an ak without it going to the sky. Or search 10 jackets to get a double a battery
