As a GP attendee, I'll give you my pick. I'm 50 years old and my father took me to my first GP when I was 12. It was the Detroit GP. My very first view of an F1 car was Michele Alboreto in the Tyrrell 011. The noise of it screaming by, got me hooked instantly. F1 was a mix of normally asperated and turbo engines for that season. I couldn't tell though. I just waited for that Tyrrell to pass by every lap. The next season we were scheduled to go to 2 GP. Our first was the Canadian GP. Once we got to the track and the F1 cars were out for practice, I was almost in tears and let down. I asked my father "What happened to the noise of the cars?". He explained to me that it was the turbos. We never attended another GP until 1989, and I would attend over 80 in my lifetime. For me, as a spectator, the very best season was 1995. The best car was the Ferrari 412 t2. You could literally close your eyes on the straights and know when that car drove past. You could feel it coming up the road (via your buthole) as you sat in the metal grandstands. You could feel each gear change until it went by, then 4 to 5 loud bangs for the downshift in the 1st corner. Well then along came 2014. I knew what the outcome would be for my F1 attendance as a result. Call it confirmation bias or wishful thinking, I booked my hotel in Montreal and went anyways. I remember convincing myself that the noise would still be there because of the technological advancements we have made, and F1 would find a way to keep it lively. They didn't. Hell they didn't even make the racing interesting for compensation. I have not been to another event as of yet. I am getting the itch though. I hope 2022 brings the excitement F1 is promising. I have heard it before though. I did go to a couple of CART races over the past couple of years though. I have to say. Very entertaining. Supporting races were spectacular.
@CYMotorsport3 жыл бұрын
yep mid90s was by far the least sexy but that made for some of the best racing. same with that tiny little sliver between the turbo boom right after the slump from banning ground effects. as f1 goes backwards in many ways to make it more interesting, I do think the racing will get better. for the wrong reasons technically, but I rather that
@chrisccc223 жыл бұрын
@@CYMotorsport Thanks for the response. One more thing. The smell of exotic fuel was amazing as well in the 90s. There could be many reasons I favor that era. It very well could be confirmation bias, as we all view our younger years as the best. Pretty hard to argue on the sound of that 412 t2 though. I went to Canada, Spa, and Suzuka that year. The Ligier Mugen-Honda was a pretty noisy machine as well. Earplugs were needed every time that beast went passed on the straights. Sound is very important when you attend an auto race. Some venues remain full to capacity while others drape banners over the grandstands to make them look full. I noticed this happening after the turbos came back. Especially in EU. Now F1 races take place in regions of the world we never would have thought. I would love to see a woman drive in the Saudi GP though.

Mate it’s like you buttering me up haha I’m a major fan of exotics. Shout about it constantly on Twitter. Exotics will save this sport but given hybrid tech, that’s the only option. I have speculated for a year plus now that Ferrari had infusions of an exotic which resulted in their power unit ban in 2019 . But I think under the fia supervision they will be allowed to run it in 2021 so expecting a decent year for them. Watching the regs closely to see if they sneak in an exotics line item. If they do, we may have ourselves a championship

@@CYMotorsport In my opinion the choice to cut the video down is a pretty good concept, but I'd be surprised if a 30 minute video is too long for a significant portion of viewers on a video like this (though check with others, my clear bias is longer videos). I'd assume a lot of your viewerbase is happy with far longer more detailed videos, but that would obviously scare away a ton of people. In terms of work vs payoff I'm not sure I can successfully argue that a 90 minute video would be as good as say 2x 30 minute videos most of the time but thats something else entirely I guess. On another note, looked through some of your older content. The constant push to improve and experiment is definitely working. The insight and calls have always been good but the presentation is definitely some of the best I've ever seen now.
@fishtram13 жыл бұрын

Less is more. Consider removing background music when talking (too distracting), then too many overlay graphics that appear for too short a time (what's the point? - bells and whistles?) Of course it is up to you. I originally subscribed because you had a clear voice, a good expositional dialogue and it was informative. Maybe when a channel grows and adds all these extra distracting or stylistic features - that's when I am left behind. Maybe do a survey - I guess I am in a small minority. Best wishes. ps: I gave up after 1 min 40 second - I found it all too distracting. So surprised to read the enthusiastic comments.
@CYMotorsport3 жыл бұрын
In all things content, from story to structure to design, 9/10 less is the opposite of more. that’s naturally a very very fringe desire to want content to be LESS dynamic. I can confirm you’re incorrect on not just the writing but also the sound. ESPECIALLY the sound. I would know I paid for the hardware haha. The writing is uniquely improved with each video but I suppose that subjective. Not to mention, there’s an element of glitching in this but I did it by design. The reason there are enthusiastic comments is because this is stage one of massive story video with 29 minutes left. I think even you despite being a bit biased given your initial take can admit you’re not qualified to make a judgement on something having only consumed 3% of it. Now if frequencies clash, that’s fair. But don’t be fooled by the first 10 comments you read. I read all x-hundred. They aren’t all positive. And the constructive ones I implement. You’re left behind if I had to guess bc you’re inability to experience outside a limited bubble. I’ve yet to see what I did here on KZbin to be honest. But you’d literally have no idea bc you quit after 90 seconds. Consider also that it’s you who has a problem that might need addressing in terms of your limited expectations and cap on creativity. I’m willing to risk “leaving you behind” if it means pushing the boundaries of what’s possible here. No offense to you but just giving you a fair response since you took time and gave your thoughts. I don’t take it personal and I doubt you do either so all’s well. I prefer to keep ppl around who are critical but certainly can understand if you feel your time is wasted. I don’t want that so I hope to hear from you again my friend
@krankieboolean13403 жыл бұрын
@@CYMotorsport: I didn't say my time was wasted. I will say it is my problem and leave it at that. It is my sound perception and the way my brain processes sound to identify speech from background sounds. When there is a musical overlay with distinct beats my brain processes the sound and draws my attention towards the beat - the effect is I have more difficulty in extracting the speech. When I go and attend a lecture I prefer the lecturer just speaks, if the lecturer was to start to play some background music while speaking I would struggle with it if loud enough. This is not the same as having white noise. Anyway I did not want to "waste" your time with me (one person), I was sort of interested if anyone else had the same issue as I did. Clearly from the comments and the feedback you are in possession of - I am in a small minority.
