They killed the music industry. They kept killing it for years. For me they are the most popular and successful music band ever. With every single release of an album of theirs people kept going crazy. Linkin Park isn't just a music band anymore. They are a generation. They are the gods of music for years. Linkin Park slayed every genre and proved this once again in 2017 with One More Light. They had no drama, no hate... Just six best friends with talent and love for music. They are so successful yet so down to earth and real. Chester broke his wrist on stage but didn't stop, he finished the concert. Then he broke his leg but still went to the Meet and Greet, still performed. They are... Different. They are just them. This unique, incredible music band with huge success and millions of fans of their music. Chester's death broke my heart. I've been listening to them since I remember myself and I still can't believe *HE* is gone. We lost a legend. I lost my favorite singer. And my heart aches more and more with every day passing. I never thought someone who I've never met neither seen live could have such a HUGE impact on me. He indeed is a legend and the music industry now has a huge empty place which will never be filled again. May he Rest In Peace in Paradise❤️ My hero.

I mean not all modern mainstream music is trash. In fact, I see rap moving into a more positively influential music with people like Logic and Kendrick Lamar and J Cole and many good underground rappers being influenced by these guys I think rap is actually moving in a good direction which is ironic because that is the one genre that gets the most shit for only being about sex and money and shit. By the way Im a huge Linkin Park fan but they are not the most positively influential band out there. They do have a lot of good messages but if Im looking for an uplifting band I'm looking more towards We Came As Romans or Neck Deep. I see your point though I'm just saying i think it unfairly labels my generations music as the worst, most unpositive, music and I think it is wrong.

But on the other hand, there are certain rock bands (like for example Green Day) that make songs about drugs and sex. And that's exactly what most people criticise rap and pop for. All of that is rather just your opinion, not of truth. I think Reanimation is their best and innovative album artistically. ATS isn't really all that impressive to me. Don't see what makes the album so innovative and original, it's been done before, but something like Reanimation has never been done before. With Chester gone, they may retire but even if they do retire, I'd still put the first two albums over every other studio album.

Linkin park released their first album the same year I was born. and obliviously I had numb and crawling in my old computer the same year they were released. I did not know who these people were but i had gained immense respect for them. And in 2007 a friend of mine recommended me What I've done. in 2012 i first decided to hear castle of glass and Lost in the echo as well as burn it down. so until now my life was always coincidentally related to Linkin park. keep on makin amazing songs guys. you are awesome.

We can't ignore the change they made to their music like a lot of people expect us to do. The old Linkin Park and new Linkin Park are basically two different bands at this point with the new music they are releasing. I like their new songs as well, and have been a fan and will continue to be a fan all of my life. But, I don't try to ignore the huge change they made, and I don't think they are as good as they used to be. That's me. If its not you, awesome.
