When I was in 6th grade I wanted to dye my hair blue. My mom got one of thoses hair dye kits you can get at a store. The bleach burned so I had to wash the bleach out. When we put the used the blue dye my hair was more green than blue.

I had a friend who dyed their hair the wrong colour, and because of it they couldn’t easily dye their hair to a natural colour cheaply. So when the school told them they had to fix it, they shaved their head, which was something they had been thinking of doing anyway, and they gave them detention for being to short.

I remember when i was younger i was in a really bad mood and just wouldn't sit still at the hairdresser and because of it the hairdresser ended up shaving a small chunk of the tip of my ear off. Of course she was naturally terrified but my mom just told her it was my fault for not listening to her in the first place and sitting still. AS I WAS SOBBING MY EYES OUT. Thankfully i haven't really needed to go to a hairdresser nowadays because my younger sister does my hair as well as my mom and my brother's as well and she's really good at it too!

When I first dyed my hair, I went for a darker purple at the ends. It lasted for like a month and I loved it so much. Always choose a darker shade, it would last longer then if you chose a lighter one (Btw this only applies for darker hair, I don’t know but it’s like for people with lighter hair since I have dark brown hair-)

I live in a military town, so going to the barbers or a salon (specifically the barber) usually costs $15 for a trim. This is because people in the town go to the barbers so often (because a lot of people are in the military) that they would be paying 80$ -$100 every other week if it was normal price. The thing is though, they don't colour hair there. I got an extremely lucky break because my mom also used to be a hair stylist so I get free cut and dye when I need it lol.

I have thick hair, because Filipino, and I also have the family curly curse albeit on the tamer end of the scale (it becomes wavy when it's properly groomed and/or long) and I keep it largely in a bob style. The most I've paid for a trim and thinning (because the desert life SUCKS) the most I've paid is like... $40, but I've found a salon that does it at like... $18 and they are familiar with the texture I have so SWEET!
