Not really. More like an Anthony Bourdain wanna be so it’s not really original. I suggest you watch Anthony Bourdain shows so you know what I’m talking about. It’s different if it’s an homage but it’s more like plagiarism lol Putting it out “internationally” is OA
@zavs350Күн бұрын
@@LouieGeorge-q3v Your comment already reeks misery, but you're so patronizing I'll have to bite. You say all this as if Bourdain himself was content with a single style of narrative approach, which is an assumption I have no idea how you arrived at since you seem to be so learned about his work. Just because it shares similar aspects (honestly can't even pinpoint what exactly you're referring to apart from the introspective approach and the people and culture-centered narration, all of which are already hella common in documentaries nowadays) doesn't mean they're the same. And even if they were, has never been a crime. It's like saying every travel and culinary documentary out there is a Bourdain copy and should be unacceptable. You don't seem to know what plagiarism means...and OA? If the documentary style is your sole standard for what's acceptable internationally then I fear you have no idea why documentaries are made in the first place. And this is KZbin, this is as international as it gets. Even Bourdain would laugh at you. EDIT: What gets me the most about your comment is the way you're citing Anthony Bourdain as if he's not one of the most beloved food and culture documentarian in history. Everyone knows his works, but it's the first time I've seen someone act like you do.

Can't believe how this district transformed. Flashbacks of Alba and the old Insular Bakery as a little kid, passing by the old American Sports at the corner of Polaris street. There were still residences back then before Handle Bar, Heckle & Jeckle and the likes of 'em. Rockwell was literally a powerplant back then. And suddenly, everything changed. We changed, too, from teens to adults to --well, aged millenials. Sigh, I miss those carefree days. I'd like to revisit the place, but I'll stick to virtual tours for now. Thanks for taking us back, Erwan...

I don’t know how to start to thank you for the excellent presentation of Poblacion Makati in as much as I enjoyed watching your other videos and have yet to watch the rest. I spent the best early part of my twenties as a young adult fresh from college years in the area. Your various highlights in this video do bring back pleasant memories. I truly hope and wish that you will continue the great job that you are doing and I feel truly proud of you guys. I congratulate you all members of the Featr Team for this excellent work. I left Makati in 1981 and have never been back (yet) to revisit. Now that I start looking back as a 74-year old retiree to my youthful years, I find this video to be a delightful refreshing journey for me. Please continue the great job and I look forward to watching more of your forthcoming videos. Thank you. Nick S from Vancouver

This video made me realize na apart from Poblacion being like a spot for having and making fun, it is the actual (and maybe) the only heritage spot in Makati. This video made me realize that it is rich in culture apart from the night life culture. I love this kind of story telling!

Poblacion is special to me and my family. I spent the better part of my adult life in Hulo which is right across the river. My daughters studied in St. Paul of Makati College. I used to explore the small streets while waiting for them to finish their class. We moved away 6 months ago and I miss being so near that area.

This is such a nice documentary that highlights the many sides and facets of Poblacion, introducing it as not just a place that is brought alive when the sun goes down, but also a barangay rich in heritage and culture and a sense of pride in their community. With that said, I envy the people of Poblacion's pride in their community. I reside in Pitogo, a former barangay in Makati which was abruptly taken and is now part of Taguig. I wish I can be as proud of the place I grew up in as that of people in Poblacion, but how can we when we don't even know which city we're in. It's hard to foster a sense of community when the city you grew up in suddenly disowned you without even consulting us, the people.

I'm so happy I was able to hear Mass two times when I was there in Makati. I heard the first Mass in English and on my birthday, I heard Mass in Tagalog. Now that I'm back in Canada, I am so happy to watch this. It feels like I'm still there walking the streets of Poblacion. My sister lives in front of the Pamilihang Bayan ng Poblacion or the Poblacion Market. I enjoyed watching this. God bless you and your team Erwan. Take care!

Coming to visit the Philippines in 2025 and have plans to-see the old neighborhood, a lot has changed almost unrecognizable, but thank God the church still the same ❤Thank you for this!

I love how the piano rendition of 'May Bukas Pa' just plays along with the interviewees' answer for the "What will Poblacion be in 5 years". The conclusion really served as a message that there's still tomorrow for the people (knowing the Poblacion is known for its night life culture) and also for the businesses in there (within years of development). The story-telling on this video is exceptional-from Earwan's venture at noon up until the place's night life, portraying both Poblacion's faces. This docu really immersed the viewers, just like me, who doesn't have any idea what Poblacion looks like or what it really is. Hoping to see more of these topics in this channel!
