What I think might be fun is a 3-D or 2-D platformer where you play as the koopalings ( you can play as them all + Baby Bowser) and you alone want to get to the end first and that could mean teaming up to pass a gap but leaving the last one out and then throwing the rest off a cliff. I know they get a lot of hate for being "unoriginal bosses" and "taking slots" but I love these guys and i'm glad they came back for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I'm a lot more accepting of Bowser Junior now that I know he's not totally replacing them, that was a genuine concern back when he was first revealed. Really hope they get to appear in a 3D Mario some day.

I still feel the koopalings being his children makes the most sense. I thought the manuals, both japanese and american stated they were his children anyway, so I don't know why they'd change it later. Also, the koopalings are rather young. Why would Bowser have children/teenagers running his castles? Why would entrust them with so much power? I don't think he would do it to just random children unless they were is, which would make more sense why he'd spoil them with stuff. Also, I'd find it interesting if Bowser Jr. would be given special treatment over the other koopalings, mostly because he looks like Bowser the most, and Bowser favors him over all the other children, which is why he's in a higher position and next in line for the throne. That would make the other children jealous, which would be interesting to see.

Larry is canonically the next in line as the leader of the koopalings. Similar to the story of the koopalings originally being bowsers kids, as well as wario and waluigi originally being siblings, miyamoto got lazy and instead of embracing this uniqueness he singularly disclaimed these as being factual. However since all have been a thing for some time b4 miyamoto decided without approval from Nintendo to disclaim the ideas. That means regardless of what Miyamoto had stated Larry is the official leader of the koopalings, and, like in the TV series, he is Bowsers favourite koopaling and therefore next in line. Perhaps nowadays the koopalings are always competing to destroy Mario and the Victor gets to take over peachs Castle. I hope they get some very creative director that can drive out a fabulous new story in a 3d setting with koopalings as main antagonists, and add to their unique personalities with voice acting

According to Nintendo, the Koopalings are not Bowser's children. This was an idea that was devised in the N. American handbook for SMB 3 (just like their names), but Nintendo has stated that it is not the case, and Bowser Jr. is the only child of Bowser. His mother is unknown (but Shigeru Miyamoto has joked that he himself is Jr.'s mother).

Ludwig likes music. You can see this by looking at the reason for his name and in world you can read that he sings very much as Mario saves the yoshi egg. I dont like it that the music aspect got lost until now. Every Koopaling has a cool feature in new games like Wendys rings or lemmys ball (I think they excisted since Bros 3) and Morton uses a hammer or Iggy makes very unexpected moves or things. Ludwig became a mixture between Yoshi and Koopa (and a bit Kamek in Bros U) but the music thing would have been a cool personality for Ludwig.

The birth order makes much more sense in the cartoons, where Roy is the oldest, while Lemmy and Iggy are the youngest (that is, If you see how they look like in the show). The order is Essentially Roy, Morton, Ludwig, Larry, Wendy, Iggy, and Lemmy. I don't know why they made Larry and Ludwig the youngest and oldest respectively when its clear that Lemmy and Morton look and act the part.

Exactly. I think the only ones who are in support of Bowser Jr. being his only son are the new generation fans who don't remember the old days when koopalings were his children. Not just in the games but in the cartoon show (which was a big part of my childhood). Miyamoto can change his mind if he wants to, but it's lame he can't create a storyline and stick with it. And I still call Peach Princess Toadstool, even though I know that was only an American thing.

Koops N' Troops Morton isn't too strong as Roy and Ludwig for be the second youngest of his brothers. Lemmy and Morton are as Rigby and Don from Regular Show respectively. Because Lemmy and Rigby are older then Morton and Don respectively, but are smaller then their brothers.

The Koopalings were also in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. You fought them after Beanella took over Bowser's body. Which counts as an appearance between Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros.

2024 here. I like the Koopalings, even if they’re a bit overused. They are bowsers family. I would like for Nintendo to use them in more interesting ways and expand on their personalities and stories more. We don’t even know who their mother is. It would be really interesting to meet her. Such untapped potential.

Did you know the canon references for the names don’t apply to Morton or Larry? Nintendo said the other 5 were named after musicians, and people just assume the others are also referencing musicians.
