Joel Salatin is the best! We used to buy half a cow from him (and whole chickens) many years ago when he first started selling. Eventually he began to sell differently….but, boy was it ever fun driving over to his place then pulling off with a trunk load of goodies!

Yes! I will definitely let you know when we head that way again. I just started videoing the puppies about a year ago. The puppies are so much fun to work with! I just don't quite do them justice with my video making skills. With the small amount that I video I know it takes huge amounts of skill and talent to put together a video like Chris does. You two are a great team!

You are correct. It is simply the first annual "Homestead Festival" hosted by Rory and not Homesteaders of America or such. And it is a little bit like the "Bib and Buckle Fest" that he and Joey used to host.

I am sorry you didn't get my reply, RVrebel Girl. You absolutely can! I take out and add to mine as often as needed. Just be gentle so as not to disturb the eggs below what you are taking out. (The more jostling, the more the slaked lime slips down through the eggs to settle on the bottom. You want as much to stay on top and even up on the surface of the water). If you ever are in doubt, just sprinkle a little more lime over the top of the water.

A stray or feral cat scoping out leftover chicken parts. 6. A well insulated lady sitting in a fold out chair fanning herself with a Simmins Funeral Home paper popsicle stick fan. 7. A soft drink in a glass bottle pretending to be the authentic 16oz but can only squeeze out 10. 8. Guys dressed in overalls like this is a Renaissance Festival where cosplay dress up scores extra 'cool' points. 9. Loretta Lynn playing on the lawn speakers. 10. Maude, former Pigsley Elementary School crossing guard for 32 years, in the shadows keeping a watchful eye out for anyone who might be packing an assault weapon with plans to shoot up some Preppers.
