Yes, it's a model aimed at the "starter" market using the old Thomas body. I did consider getting one to convert to a later production E2, but using an old E2 model and extending the tanks will be easier!

Initially I think it looks good but so much about the model is wrong if you want to make it into an E2. 1 of the biggest turn offs is the wrong smoke box door. I may still get one to work on it but I feel like it’ll be a lot of work.
