The Lion Guard one is the most canon one. Solid Proof: Scar gave Kion the same scar, and Rafiki said he had seen this type of injury before. This means even Rafiki knew that Scar had venom in his scar, and Kion had the same cobra venom, but from Ushari.

I personally believe Ahadi their father was the one that gave Taka a scar at a young age. He was also neglected by his father and Ahadi favored Mufasa to be the next heir to the throne. Scar had Sarabi first when they were younger until Mufasa took her away from him. Uru their mother was the only one that cared and understood Scar. Sarafina use to like Scar because she always understood him, also Zira. It’s a personal rivalry between the two brothers and I’ve written my own version of what I think happened between the two brothers.

A Tale of Two Brothers is definitively non-canon. Disney never confirmed that the Lion Guard is non-canon, although it has some plot holes. Even Scar Comic isn't confirmed by Disney to be canon, but I don't know if in that comic was revelead how he got his scar(please don't spoil that).

The problem with the Lion Guard version is, it's from Scar's point of view. All he had to do was play victim and act like Mufasa was mistreating him and nicknamed him Scar, to sound more sympathic like a victim of a tyrannical dictatorship. It's all his story, we never heard Mufasa's version of the story nor do we see evidential flashbacks of what really happened. Mufasa could've easily been horrified and congratulated Scar for all we know and Scar is just saying his own version.

I don't find any storytelling value in absolving villains from their harmful decisions and actions. So the snake venom turning scar evil has to be my very least favourite of all theories. It is far more interesting when there IS a tragic backstory, but it is clear that the decision to do evil things was the character's own. Whatever caused Scar's signature injury - he was living a comfortable life in the pridelands and could've continued so. His evil ways were his own, jealousy-driven, malicious decisions. The guy didn't even bat an eye at making a young cub watch his father die in a horrible "accident". The idea when expanding his story should not be to forgive him, but to build a complex character that is interesting and multidimensional in his behaviours and choices.
