Sorry, but I think you covered this story so far out of sequence that it was difficult to follow and really keep straight. First you're saying he missed the cup, but then police were escorting him to games? Confusing there. Also, how could it have been a secret if his wife's screaming saved them, the police presence found clues of a potential kidnapping, which most likely would have made news and then they hung around him, escorting him to matches? This story did not make sense really.

No, he said they never came closer to winning the world cup after the 70s. Which is correct, because the closest they came back then was going all the way to the final, which also happened in 2010, so, technically, they never actually came closer to winning the world cup than the final.

This story is not clear, (1) Johan Cluff and his wife were tied up by 6 armed men in front of his kids (2) the man dropped his gun on the side and the wife picked up the gun and ran screaming to the neighbours. How is that possible (3) the world cup final is played few days after the quarter and semi finals and players travel to the host nation with their families so why are the cluff family relaxing at their flat in Barcelona while they are suppose to be in Argentina or is barcelona a city in Argentina? (4) Johan cluff could have known the men who did that because it is likely he might be a "crook" deal gone wrong and if he had revealed their identity he could have gone down as well so he waited for many years to talk so as to calm the situation down (5) In the 1970s and 1980s a lot of celebrities from the sports and music industry were connected to organized crime and criminal organisation such as the Mafia and the drug cartels so it is likely that he was involved

If your National Team calls you up, you have to play. You don't get to say "no, I'll sit this one out." FIFA is contracted with the European leagues to use their players whenever they need them. But... for people like me, just looking for interesting stuff about Johan Cruijf. Most of this video is just made up. Johan Cruijf was robbed... that much is true. He was on is way home from Madrid Airport en was then robbed of his stuff. Which was luggage, shoes and an expensive watch. The robbers were found and prosecuted. ????!!!!! How can you not mention that in may 1978 Michel Hidalgo, coach of France, was also victim of a kidnapping attempt and managed to escape. At the time Argentina was a fierce military dictatorship that kidnapped citizens on a daily basis. Their football team was in an extremely challenging group with France, Italy and Hungary… And Cruyff was the crucial asset of the best team in the world at the time. It's not unlikely that the military junta was behind these two events.
