Nice review. Got it in 2019 mainly because of the art. The story doesn’t blow me away but it goes wild at places. It’s based in real facts (partly) and the house exist still. The other work “Little Bird” is more of Bertram’s goodness but with a slight better script.

Very nice. Bertram's style looks like a pefect amalgam of many references, as all characters seem to belong to different universes but it's all somehow cohesive. Some mid distance panels remind me of Moebius, while some close ups have a certain early Enki Bilal look. There's also a modern animation feel, and some stuff almost looks like underground comix.

Bilal, yes! Now that you mention him... Bilal as reimagined by Brandon Graham. Good call!

I absolutely love Bertram's artwork but the story didn't do much for me at all. I was never very invested, thrilled, or disturbed. Yes, Bertram is an incredible artist and his work is so gripping, but the writing didn't measure up to that standard at all for me.

Yes, agreed. In the first two issues there was an uncanniness to it all... but then it got very repetitive and lost its way... and the art alone couldn't do much about the fact that everything happens in ONE location with the same two or three people.
