Jerica Banks' routine was clockwork. Her mother said she was a creature of habit. She always called, she always answered, and everyone always knew where she was. So when she failed to show up to brunch with her family, and her phone was going unanswered something was definitely wrong. Jerica and her two daughters were missing.

I was being dragged by my throat by a man trying to take me to his house. All the while being on the phone w the sheriffs dispatch screaming for my life. I was told by her “the more you scream the longer they’ll take to come” and hung up. My worry was not for myself but for all the women & girls who called and got the same response. Dispatchers are always the first to fail us as sad as it is.😢 My heart goes out to not only this family but every person who has experienced this level of “care”.❤️🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽❤️

Me as a survivor of DV that happened in Milwaukee I can say that the police are no help at all! I called the police when I was 18 years old because my child’s father had hit me in my eye and because I called the police he started beating on me and I had no choice but to stab him to get him off of me. When the police got there they immediately took me to jail and him to the hospital. After he was stitched up he went home and I was in jail for five days with my eye swollen shut. They were trying to prosecute me until he came down and talked to the prosecutor and told them that he wouldn’t testify against me. So they let me go but I’m 48 now and although I was never prosecuted it stills shows up on my record and I’m still not understanding how I went from victim to aggressor

@@sallyh.6362I think he’s saying that Arzelle’s father turned him in because he lost two granddaughters. Yes Chris Watts’ mother supported her son but lots of families support their loved ones when they commit heinous crimes. Even Jerica’s mother was surprised that Arzelle’s family didn’t at least show up to his hearings in support which makes me think that if her son had done something as horrible as that, she would have shown up for him. Arzelle’s dad did the opposite of what a lot of parents would do in that situation. It very well could have been because it was two of his grandchildren who were murdered. Who knows. But he did what was right whether that was a tough decision for him or not.

I might be there to support my son with love, but I have grandchildren and am not sure if I'd be so heartbroken I could not attend. No one knows what they will do unless it happens to them. I know I would be there for any crime, but I can't honestly say, in this situation, if I could or would be there. I love my grands so much...trying not to cry a lot in court would be impossible. This father could be so broken he just couldn't attend. He did right, and I would turn a son in, too, even though it hurts. RIP beautiful kids & Jerica 😢

Not to disagree with your statement, but it was mostly the dispatcher who dropped the ball. She did not log the call correctly and she left out vital information, therefore the officers had no idea what was happening or the urgency of the calls. She basically logged it as a noise complaint. The dispatcher resigned after this.

@@here2laff397 No, law enforcement didn't fail this family. Jerica's father failed her and Jerica desperately needed Jesus. I'm Jerica's ex boyfriend. Jerica was touched inappropriately when she was a little girl and I think that set her on a path to crave premarital relations with men, including myself. I dated her straight out of high school and took her virginity. We were together when I was going through my 'bad boy' phase and all her friends warned her about me but she didn't listen to them. I was a horrible boyfriend to her too though I wasn't violent towards her. I blame myself everyday for not being mature enough and holy enough to protect her. She desperately wanted someone to love her after being abandoned by her biological parents as a child and being touched inappropriately. She needed to be born again and follow the 7th commandment. Jerica was born into a generational curse and nothing could've saved her outside of repentance. We can't blame the police. Her own past, the sin in her heart, and the sinfulness of the city of Milwaukee all conspired against her and her children. 1 Timothy 5:6✝

I'm not shocked at any of the issues with the dispatcher, police or news. This is typical of how these things are handled in our communities. Everyone screams "see something, say something". This neighbor did and a woman and 2 kids still died because sometimes the people you have to say something to simply dont see you as valuable enough to make the proper responses. Suspensions? I wonder if the jobs would have been restored had this been a soccer mom from an affluent family and her kids. I would stake my life on the fact that ALL of this would have been done differently because all is not equal, no matter how much we want to lie to ourselves and say it is.

@@autumnmoss9474 It isn't just single mothers raising violent, unstable men or men who don't know how to control their own emotions and actions. There's a fundamental flaw in how we raise and socialize boys, some of it made WORSE by the presence of a father depending on said father's OWN mentality. Don't believe me? Okay here are just TWO examples of NORMAL SHIT almost every boy is raised with: ~ "Boys will be boys" to excuse everything from playing in the mud as toddlers, to increasing aggression towards one another - as well as girls, even as far as excusing SA and se*ual harassment later in life ~ "Boys/Men Don't Cry" This BS starts EARLY and other boys are told to hide their emotions, the implication being that they're weak for even HAVING them. And if you're supposed to hide them, be ashamed of showing them, are weak for having them, etc... How can you ever talk about them to learn how to deal with them in the right way??? Those are just TWO things most boys are raised being told/hearing

And that does not give anyone the right to take them out of the world. I hope those babies faces haunt his dreams every single night for the rest of his pathetic life. He couldn't even wait a day or two after she buried her baby in the ground before sending her to heaven with her son. Now knowing the facts of the case I think he let the baby pass away on purpose or even caused it so he could get rid of the family and "start over" .. the have names for guys that do that I'm pretty sure it's like family annihilator or something along those lines where they "get rid" of the whole family so they can start fresh... My heart goes out to this woman’s family, for I can’t even imagine the pain they’re still enduring today. I believe the way they have used their pain and grief is VERY commendable and I’m sure their sister/daughter/ niece would be so proud because they’re obviously making a difference in someone else’s lives now in her and her children’s honor. ❤ I also feel for the father who turned his own son in. I can’t imagine being faced with that decision. However it was the right thing to do even though it was probably most difficult to place that call. I Hope Jerrica and her babies are resting peacefully. 🕊️ My first thought of “why” this didn’t garner much attention from the media was indeed wrought with racial undertones and/or the police knew they had screwed up so badly with this case and this is another tragedy in itself. This absolutely broke me. I was trying as hard as I could to not cry but when it showed her families reactions after finding out they were gone, I lost it. I watch these videos every day, and it takes a lot to get me this upset, but god this one tore me down. The way he took their precious lives with no care in the world, and then had the nerve to speak at that baby boys funeral is absolutely disgusting and Jerica had every damn right to be upset. My heart is so broken for the friends and family of these angels.

God this was a sad story, why wasn't he arrested when he brought the baby boy into the hospital? He should of been arrested right there. I'm so sorry this happened. RIP to all these beautiful people ❤ So heartbreaking.

Thank you for the way you presented this family’s horrendous experience of how utterly cruel life can be.😢❤

There's no such thing as closure, unfortunately. You just learn to accept the fact that they are gone and not coming back, which can take a very long time. Thank you Truly Criminal 💠

Why didn't the police investigate the death of the son? If he was arrested for child abuse or worse they could have saved 3 more lives. This is horribly unbelievable.

Can't believe her mother felt pity for the murderer. Shows how much of an angel she is, no, the entire family are.
