Hooked blades His emotions made him arrogant. Once Gregor was on his back he should have left him to die or piece his face. But no he had to hear him say what he wanted. Even Cersei said that all he had to do was let Gregor die but he couldn’t. The Martells are like the Targaryens in that regard. In fact all the current generation of Martells are part Targaryen due to the Targaryens and Martells marrying a hundred years ago. And even if Orys Baratheon wasn’t Aegon’s Bastard Brother. Robert’s Grandmother was a Targaryen. Which was used as a pretext to justify his rule even though he got his crown from right of conquest. So it appears even diluting the Targaryen blood makes the relatives a bit more emotional and often is their downfall.

Finished reading them before the second season was over and going into the 3rd book. It was then I realized how damn near perfect the screen adaptation was for S1. S2 they really started to veer off. Even the scoring was better in the first season, you really start to pick up stuff when you’ve watched it a bunch. I’ve read the books 4 times now, listened to the audio books twice, and watched the show countless times. And even though the first season is perfect and I love it, ( I’ll never ever forget the utter shock and how it made me feel watching “Baelor”) I wish I’d never heard of it. I mean, Thor's basically half McCann's age. The only reason they picked him is because he's a massive man. It's not like they're spoilt for choice when they need to find someone who is supposedly bigger than Rory, considering the latter is 6'6" himself.
@criert1352 жыл бұрын
@@MegaShepardsPie They could just have used CGI and camera trickery for that. Remember that none of the Hobbits in TLOTR were actually small and the actor who played Gimli was 6ft 1
@MegaShepardsPie2 жыл бұрын
@@criert135 It's one thing to do that for a mvoe that spans a few hours, but something else entirely to do so for a series that has a much longer runtime. It'd probably end up being quite expensive.
@criert1352 жыл бұрын
@@MegaShepardsPie Surely the Mountain is on screen much less in all of GOT than the Hobbits/Gimli are in LOTR? In terms of time I would say it would have had to be done for lot longer in LOTR, because they were much more central characters.
@MegaShepardsPie2 жыл бұрын
@@criert135 I rather doubt that. Quite often, the hobbits and/or Gimli are only in shot with eachother or on their own to make all the camera trickery work. That way, it's easier to trick the audience into thinking they're short of stature. With the Mountain, it's the opposite. He's a big and imposing man meant to intimidate the other characters and the audience, so there's much more of an emphasis on his hulking frame. Whenever he's shown, the show makes sure that he's seen towering over others or generally being a very big, brutish man.

Sid Natividad No they didn't, they actually had their budget raised significantly. Maybe it's just exhaustion on the crew/production team. I like the way this was built up more in the book. This joust actually took place the morning after most of the tournament and The Hound had escorted Sansa back to the castle. That’s where we learn his backstory, he opens up to her and tells it to her, mainly as a lesson to her about how she doesn’t really know the first thing about what makes someone truly “gallant.” It’s a nice little moment where she actually feels sad for him. Ofc, he then threatens to kill her if she tells anyone, but it still set up this moment wonderfully. Was a great payoff showing that he actually does have some gallantry under all his cynicism.

Even famous Barristan "The Bold" Selmy just stood there and watched... @Blender Boy You don’t need to defend Martin, he certainly isn’t out here defying you. Sure game of thrones is a good TV show, but so too are a many quantity of shows. Martin was in media for about 20 years (working on TV), and so was able to promote the idea of publishing his book into a television series (an option a great deal of people don’t have) not being in that industry, and not knowing where to go with your source material makes it hard for small time authors to penetrate into that industry, and so don’t discredit others ideals and criticism so easily. Martin on the other hand has (and had) millions of dollars, contacts in the media industry, and has have over 20 years to bring to conclusion the series that many people have invested their wealth into. Game of thrones deserves all the ill praise it has gotten and Martin could have stopped it all just by first finishing up his books before season 4 ended... he did not.

Chris66able If you really believe that than you are a twisted blind fool. PTSD has been documented since ancient times. It may be over-diagnosed in modern times like most diseases, but to say it doesn't exist is doing a great disservice to mental health. That's like saying depression and anxiety don't exist - but you're probably one of the sociopaths who believes that too. I dare you to tell the WWII vet who went through a hell like Iwo Jima that the fact that he wakes up in the middle of the night, in cold sweats, having shit the bed because he had that damn dream again of seeing his buddy's head blown off. And every time he has this dream he wakes up confused and unsure of where he is, and it takes hours for his body and mind to calm down. Yeah, go ahead and tell him that he's faking it. Go fuck yourself.

+jessc1979 This one has the best everything. Best armor, best face, best stature. Hafthor may be a bit taller, but he really has to strain himself to sell the "psychotic giant" vibe. People have said that he looks like a big teddy bear, and I have to agree. He's trying hard to put on a frowny face, but the lines indicate that he's been smiling more often. I find it downright criminal they didn't give Hafthor this armor, with the big pauldrons and the "oven door" visor. That made for a great visual gag and makes Gregor look like a tank on legs. Ian Whyte in S2 also has too kind a face and is spindly of stature.
