No the Bishops and Priests are to lead us. And they need to lead us by using Christian and conservative values. They can start this by making sure that All parishes have the Traditional Latin Mass. Without worshiping God the proper way we can do nothing. That comes first.

This message is right on as to where we need to turn to bring about needed change in the world - ourselves. Christianity's origins started with a grassroots movement - due to regression, it is needed once again. Christians have quietly and passively watched the secular world fill the leadership void in almost every sector. Our spiritual life needs to spill out into the world in an authentic way, otherwise it is left stunted. Our efforts ought not encourage harsh conflict but still recognize that the Christian way is vastly superior to what secularism has provided. This effort for us is where the rubber meets the road. Learning our faith well for ourselves is just the beginning.

When you have corrected yourself than you can go and change other people. also you need to spend decades correcting your sins. before you can transform the world.
@seandarby37702 жыл бұрын
@@johnpglackin345 Evangelizing and looking to change other people are to me not the same thing. Evangelizing is living your faith in the world - unapologetically - and being willing to share it with those drawn to it. Evangelizing is my duty; as for changing other people, I leave that up to the Holy Spirit. As long as a Christian authentically believes in their faith (knowing the what and why, in union with the Church) they can evangelize. Self correction and the slow and steady nurturing of the faith are important, but waiting for total sanctity will lead one the grave still waiting to evangelize.

Its an insightful video and an urgent message. There is little or no adult formation in the church, and not much left in schools even, so a very weak base in the laity with very little situational awareness either. The most important aspect of any progress is usually omitted though. .. listening to God. 'My sheep hear my voice.. ' before leading the charge, we need to be able to hear His voice, otherwise its just human effort alone, and regardless of good intention, that will be ineffective, or less effective. Prayer life needs to be first and deep in order to hear and then follow His direction.

An excellent video. Good insights, shared wisdom and beautifully portrayed both verbally and visually through the lens of the complimentarity of the masculine and the feminine. Great to see Bishop Thomas Olmstead [emeritus] of Phoenix - a man deeply inspired by Pope St John Paul II's catechesis on human love from when [as a young priest working in the Vatican Secretariat of State] he personally translated those now famous General Audiences in to English.

The fear of raising the injustices that happen in our immigrant community is discouraging. Our churches focus is on permits for raising money to sustain the church not the people of this community. I agree we are the church the people. Ministries can happen out of rectories and the church though numerous priests do not practice this social justice ministry. I live in a community where there are no priests who work towards social justice. They are afraid of addressing the Environmental Justice issues that takes years away from our lives. They do not get involved on any social or racial injustices in my immigrant community. Lead in our drinking water, police injustices with Brown and Black communities, no justice in our education, changing our zoning map to create more pollution, no health justice for Brown or Black communities. No justice to shelter our asylum seekers in Cicero or not stepping up to voice their voices.

Women employees, females very immodestly dressed (i.e. Mary Like Modesty Standard), women leading at work, men with tattoos (i.e. mutilation), the "servant-leader" borderline-error (i.e. servants are followers), laity being enjoined to educate themselves (As an alternative to being educated by priests?), probable Bible reading, an error that the laity have the duty to become leaders are all not-good aspects of this video. What matters is politics and the media. And to be successful in politics, it would be likely necessary that the true Catholic Church get directly involved in political causes. None of this "let your conscience be your guide," and that it is - generally - OK to vote for any candidate who supports abortion in the slightest. If this requires the TRUE Catholic Church giving up tax exempt status, then it may be necessary. Although, there is an opportunity/mandate for civil "disobedience" as it amounts to an unconstitutional restriction on the freedom of speech, and an infringement on the unique rights of the Church. It was no coincidence that this "law" was created in 1934 after the Catholic Church began to gain "intolerable" power and it was "perfected" in 1954 at about the zenith of the power of the Church. Philip Hamburger wrote a book on this topic. "Liberal Suppression: Section 501(c)(3) and the Taxation of Speech"

This video’s presentation and portrayal about who the laity are from Vatican II missed the very important teaching about the Church not just as the light of the nations but as God’s chosen people, a royal priesthood, which implies the priesthood of the laity, the baptismal - royal priesthood of the 99% of Church members who are to be served by (not as servants of, not even collaborators of, but as co-responsible with) the only 1% ordained - ministerial priesthood, all participating in the high priesthood of Christ. To be seen from the perspective of this priesthood of all the baptized, what is emphasized in this video like prayer, leadership, and service can all be considered as the exercise of offering the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, which are to be united to the perpetual memorial sacrifice of the Mass; the priesthood in the Bible being understood as the service of offering sacrifice and of bridging God and people. Sadly until this time Vatican II’s teaching and insistence of rightly calling the ordained priests not as “priests” but as “presbyters” (meaning elders) has not taken root in Catholic language, thinking, and practice. This should have underlined the common priesthood of all, especially of the 99%. Think of the teaching about the sacrament of baptism. We’re taught that by it one becomes a child of God, a member of God’s family, a Church member, but becoming a (baptized-royal) priest (a pivotal Vatican II teaching) is forgotten and not taught. Retrieving this should have given this video presentation as well as much of all the Church faith and life a depth of meaning to truly unleash the power and the hour of the laity.

Dear Thaddeus, thank you for your beautiful catechesis. Our video's intention was not to offer a comprehensive overview of the Catechism or even Vatican II. It is our video, and we know its objective better than anyone. That is to wake up the laity around the world to the need to engage their communities as leaders. @@TheCatholicProfessional I salute your organization’s initiative. Only a priest can offer sacrifice. We can do penance for our sins and of others that's it. The priests and bishops are to lead us. We are the flock.
@truecatholic12 жыл бұрын
No one who follows Antipope Francis is a Catholic. That comes from the definition of what a Catholic is. The true pope is Pope Gregory XVIII (currently in exile) who succeeded Pope Gregory XVII (a.k.a. "Cardinal" Siri). With regards to the subject of the video, the laity need to be under the active guidance of and - likely - taught by true Catholic priests and bishops. My understanding is that this is traditional and might be required. There is too much of an opportunity for division/schism to appear. Also, it might be that true Catholic speakers/publicizers are required to be authorized by the hierarchy. AFAIK the true Catholic laity don't have any duty to spread the faith. That is for missionaries and the hierarchy. And certainly it isn't imperative that they are leaders. That said, if accepting an unjust employment discharge for refusing to be complicit with injustice makes one a leader, then that is a form of leadership.
