Man it is nice to see an arcade cabinet without lightgun issues. In the Philippines they just don't give a damn about maintaining them. Alot of them has issues like being unable to shoot at corners, poorly calibrated lightguns, accuracy all over the place.

i always loved how headshots are usually a one shot kill in this game, which cant always be said for the other games. Less enemies on the screen rewards you for taking a second to line up a shot vs just blasting away. After spending a good time on HOTD 1 and going back and playing my hotd3 cab, headshots barely do anything.

Seeing a HOTD with a card credit reader doesn't feel right with me, also the urge not to go "This must be the security card" must've been so strong

Hello there! I have binged watched a lot of your content, and honestly, I feel like there's no other person like you, that knows THOTD more than anyone else. I am really glad that your dedication towards this franchise is bringing more people towards THOTD and it's greatness. However, I have one request. I know it might be really hard, and I am willing to wait for years for this to come true. Since the THOTD - Remake turn out to be an overall bad and botched experience compared to the original version, I would more than love it for someone to build up an ultimate THOTD1 (or maybe possibly THOTD 2 too) version, that has all the extra features of the PC version (like a Boss mode/Boss rush, Selectable characters etc.), while having the detailed and scarier visuals of the Arcade version, and having all the better parts of the Prototype version and unused creatures. I know its really a lot to ask for, but this can be like the ultimate homage to the original source material and might also be the ultimate way to play this legendary game for years to come. What do you think of it?
@egregiousguy2 жыл бұрын
It sounds very ambitious. I will tell you this though, I have been trying to make a stage select mod to work on original hardware. I've kind of made a pseudo boss rush mode that only works on Emulator that I've already shared with the Discord community. But ultimately we always joke about making an "egregious" version with all the scoring glitches patched and swapping in the unused stuff and enabling playing as the researchers. It'll happen one day, I just don't have the time to do it atm.

@@egregiousguy As I have said, I am willing to wait, even for years for this to come true. I really admire your dedication towards THOTD in general, and also towards making the game much more accessible and improved. Take your time, we all are here to support you all the way ♥

i don't know what it is about this angle but it makes the run look so much more impressive than when you can just see the screen (not that these high score runs aren't impressive enough)
@egregiousguy2 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats why I decided to make this video. Sometimes runs look easy until you really see what's involved to be able to aim, shoot and reload well.

Hey, I have a question. What if you went the route where you get hit by simon into the sewers, get to the courtyard and destroy the rubble where the dogs jump out from, and go up the balcony? You will meet another simon there that could hit you and you would fall off into the courtyard again. Can you do this with both players? I want to see what the animation with G looks like.
@egregiousguy2 жыл бұрын
If you reach that area from destroying the rubble on the stairs then you won't get knocked back down by Simon because, technically, it has a different route number than if you went straight from the mansion.
@JV-km9xk2 жыл бұрын
@@egregiousguy Oh I see, thank you. Would have been cool if they made it still accessible. Also, this video recently was published and showed a lot of routes and I just saw that the remake faithfully carried this over. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2a2n4uCgLmVd7s Good job to them.

Man I hope someone manages to reverse engineer the original arcade version and make a full port to pc. The model 2 emulator fails to render most of the floor and wall textures. Heck even the blood splatter isn't rendered correctly.

Hi, hope you're doing well. For the past 2-3 years I've been working on rebuilding/remastering HOD1 & 2 to make some cinematic Blender shorts (already made 1). I was looking for a way to extract the stage models from the game files, and this is how I found your channel. Can you share your model files with me? I'd be forever grateful. This is a passion project of mine since my childhood, making a "Seven" themed adaptation of HOD 🙏🏼

is this a original house of the dead 1 arcade machine? I never saw a card reader on the ones I grew up with.
@egregiousguy5 ай бұрын
It is an original but the Arcade owner converted the coin mechanism into a card reader. I, too, have never seen this done any place else.
