@@ChollaRanch ...sorry but this is a SERIOUS stretch. Mongolia came long, LONG after the indigenous people's of the Americas had settled in and started to form their own societies. I mean...we ALL have bits and pieces from our "native" African forebearers too...doesn't mean I'm going to go around saying I have African heritage. Technically true? Sure. But also, not really...

@@drewg4323 Yet America's First People and the ancient Mongols of the Siberian steppes today retain the same customs and implements of shamanism (e.g., drum builds and techniques, etc.), continue to fashion tipis/teepees and hogans in the same manner, display the same symbols (including the khas), even as the Inuit still throat sing. Random? Sans further contact over so many millennia, I think not.

Mongolia is sometimes refered as “Minegolia”. Mineral rich, our country’s mining industry really took off since 2011. The downside of mining is harming the nature including air and water pollution, destruction of animal habitat and harm to local communities. The lyrics and the music video teaches an important lesson for all of us. 🇲🇳 ❤️ 🌏

@@nalukful I'm a descendant of the Mohawk Iroquois and Comanche and one major belief my family has passed down to me is to not be prideful of our "labels" but to feel blessed and find gratitude to be connected to all. Our fellow man, the creatures that soar through the skies, roam the lands and swim the oceans to the trees and plants that fill our lungs with oxygen and nurture our bodies with nutrients. We are all truly connected. I personally believe that music between our cultures further connects us with one another. I'm very drawn to certain types of melodies, not just within my native heritage but also the Irish and Celtic music, Viking music from bands like Wardruna are incredible, and much of this Mongolian sound I've heard from Hu truly moves my soul. The fact they actually did a Metallica cover totally sealed me into fandom, too. Metallica was my first "favorite" band ever when I found them in my preteen years.

While crossing the Mongolia/China border, we met 2 Mongolian man who didn't speak a word of english, but using only body language, they offered us a ride from the border to the Capital. After 8 hours of driving through the desert, in the dark, we found ourself in a private club in the capital, celebrating one the guy's birthday, while we were treated as the guests of honor. They stuffed us with so much food and alcohol that we passed out, and then they took us to a hotel and paid for our room! And that was just our first day there!

TBH I had a dream idea for a song partly based on wolf totem but instead, half the battlefield would be Mongolian played by the HU and half Vikings preparing for battle with each with the song going back and forth between the HU sound using instruments that are specific to Mongolian culture such as the Morin khuur this is while the other half switches to the Nordic equivalent(or as close as we can get because of difficulty perfectly copying historic material) then the music later more combines together.

The reason why the actor of the generations is played by one person is that in mongolian shamanism religion we believe that people reborn several times with one soul. And here you can see him making same mistake over and over in different lives but when he finally understood what is important it was too late . Finally he died( really died )with the last sprout, never being able to born again ,simply disappearing.

When I saw this video as a suggested watch, all I could think before the music started was, "Please be in Mongolian." Luckily, I don't think that was anything I had to be worried about as it turned out. I really enjoy the HU even though I've only recently found their music, and it made me want to dive into learning more about the history of Mongolia past what little most people are likely already aware of.

How did everyone seem to overlook the man digging for gold literally digging his own grave? He spent his whole life dedicated to wealth and died a worthless death. The generation after had dried out ground and suffering.First thing that man did in front of the same tree his ancestor found gold under was to water the sapling.
