I’m a 75 yr. old woman and I don’t care for heavy mental music, but the first time I watched/listened to The Hu, I was totally fascinated by their music. This song is amazing and Lizzie adds so much power to it.

I saw The HU preform in Milwaukee WI a couple of years back, and their live show was packed to the rafters and beyond phenomenal! I took my 58 year old husband thinking he was going to hate their music, because he's strictly a classic rock and country guy, but he loved the entire show. If you get a chance to see The HU live, go, the experience is worth it!

I love this song, I love the connection between them. As far as songs for the Hu... well I always say, start at the beginning. That would be Yuve Yuve Yu

They have an amazing woman singer with them in the song/video Mothr Nature. Another excellent collaboration and video.

This song is one of my favorites of all time. It's so empowering and the artists are all amazing. It lifts my spirits every time. Please do check out some Halestorm, or even some other collaborations that Lzzy has done (she did one with Lindsay Stirling called Shatter Me that is perfect). Lots of great options from the Hu as well, of course!

Lzzy was approached by The Hu to do English verses for this song. The Mongolian verses, I seem to recall, have to do with a man recalling the virtues, and beauty of his far off love. Lzzy gave us a woman's POWER. (Avi Kaplan can do the over-tone sounds, as well. He did it many times with Pentatonix.)

Woman's Song is about a Mongol warrior who misses his lady, sings of her and, in the end, revs up for battle. He dedicates his fight to the Mother Queen of Mongolia and all the women at home.

The pictures are the band's , and Lzzy's, baby pictures with their own mothers. Lzzy wrote the English lyrics. You listened to Wolf Totem already, but there is a version with Jacoby Shaddix of papa Roach. All the collabs have new English lyrics. The others are Yuve Yuve Yu with Danny Case(From Ashes to New), This is Mongol with Wm. Duvall (Alice In Chains), and Black Thunder with Serj Tankian(System of a Down) and DL from Bad Wolves. Definitely check out a Halestorm original. Lzzy's little brother AreJay is the drummer. Recommend starting with I Am The Fire, I Miss the Misery, or the title track to the most recent album, Back From the Dead.

Yes 🙌🏽 the whistling is the part of the THROAT SINGING…culturally as an Indigenous Native I believe they mimicked NATURE SOUNDS. So, there are several different tones. The one ☝🏽 front man performs a hymn for CHINGGAS KHAN and there are seven different throat singing tones it. I loved it 🥰 because after awhile I started pin pointing the switched up changes. They are AMAZING and if you can review the HU’s SONG tributed to the GREAT CHINGGAS KHAN. TY for your REACTION.

yes, throat singing is often used to mimic natural sounds.

A lot of that high whistling you were hearing was actually overtone whistling. So. What you saw played was what the sounds were from....And the singers. Enkhsaikhan "Enkush" Batjargal (the one in orange playing the red Morin Khuur) does it the most. You could see him almost whistling and also making the deeper droning.

wow 🤩 usually not my type of music, but this is very impressive…hearing this live must be unique!

They did a collaboration with Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach singing Wolf Totem. Much better than their original to me. Didn't know Papa Roach from a hole in the ground but this arrangement is kick ass! I'm 78 and this got my blood flowing again, I'm good for another couple of years!

8:11 those weren’t flutes, the flute like or whistling sound you heard is another style of Mongolian throat singing called Khumei, the deeper droning style they’re mostly known for is called Kargyraa

Thanks for checking out the HU. Please consider doing The Hu Black Thunder Part1 and Part2, but NOT the collaborated version. The original one is better
@arnonyhm4055 Жыл бұрын
From my perspektive that is the only collaboration with other artists where the song becomes better than the original one. In the other songs where they feature other artists, the songs "lost their soul" - at least for me. Suggestions for more official videos from The HU (that you did not already reacted to): Yuve Yuve Yu kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGXbi4ioZad4nKc This is Mongol kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoqVmH5qo5hontk The Great Chinggis Khaan kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnWUmHeJltRkm6M For the following three videos I suggest this sequence as they tell a story. Black Thunder Part 1 (violence warning) kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZLKpo2goLt_l6c Black Thunder Part 2 (violence warning) kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4ubYmCeqcqdbKc Bii Biyelgee kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5OWqqaDqdprqpI Almost all _live_ videos from The HU I've seen so far had a poor sound quality, except these two: Covid-19 Relief Effort Fundraising Concert (1,25 hours, no audiance, good sound) kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5yYopukpq6Nr5o Mercury Ballroom FULL CONCERT (1,5 hours, good performance, acceptable sound) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmLRZKCsjr1krsk These would of course be to long to react to. But maybe you want to pick out a certain song from those concerts to react to them playing live. Have fun.

Dude, you need to react to the HU's "The Great Chinggis Khaan", "Yuve Yuve Yu", "Shireg Shireg", "Sugaan Essena", "Black Thunder (parts 1 & 2)", and "Bii Biyelgi".

You didn't look impressed lol. ...There was some throat singing I heard, with the split tones, and one of them sounded like a whistle. I urge you to try 😉 Good reaction.
