I love how simple, down to earth and relatable your videos are. Thank you for keeping in parts that don’t go perfect. Some of the bigger youtubers insult the intelligence of their audience by editing out so much that it looks like 17 minutes of perfection.

I've spent a lifetime fishing fall plus sized brookies. As a kid, an old timer told me, brook trout hit anything that resembles a crayfish in the fall. A crawfish is what messes with there reds, and they strike them even when not feeding. There are a lot of great crayfish fly patterns, rebel crayfish lure, and I tie rabbit zonker jigs that work well. Nice footage!!

Just wash the affected area with soap and water and it'll be fine. It's a cup of soy sauce, 1 can of Sprite, throw in some garlic (powder or fresh), a couple tablespoons of oil and if you're feeling spunky a bit of horseradish, then marinate your filet's for like 30mins to an hour. The brookies are so gorgeous right now.

Got a nice 14" brook trout yesterday. That's like a monster for around here in Michigan. Been hunting for decent trout all summer and didnt get like any but I go out bass fishing in a river that pretty much cant support trout and I finally get one lmao.

Me and my friend have spent hours fishing all the lakes on that side of the mountain and the first lake you went to is 1 of 3 and all of the fish are very smart and you will crush them on flies but nothing else. The second lake has great spinner fishing in the spring and summer. There is also a lake below the first one you went to that had chunky rainbow in it for the spring.

You've become one of my favorite fishing channels. You're on your own, quiet fishing, calm demeanor and a cool cat. I've not fished for trout before. I've never even caught trout before. I live in Northeast Iowa where the DNR load trout in several places and there are tons of regulations. Need a trout stamp, limits, size requirements, etc. I really enjoy your cooking segments as well. It's not always easy to cook a good fish well, and most over think it but thanks for making it very simple. Tried and true. Keep up the great work! I look forward to more content. Fyi- was extremely jealous watching you fish in Montana.
@bssaassin1900 Жыл бұрын
Why so many tight regulations? Where I'm from,hatchery/farm raised trout were meant to be consumed and provide easy limits for people who don't have the time,money or physical ability to go the mountains for wild trout. I always find that really dumb when the fish and game regulate those mass produced aquatic chickens like they're wild fish. The trout stamp I understand so that they can get money for the stocking programs but other than that 5 trout limit any size seems pretty reasonable to me.

Do they stock those tigers in those ponds off the trail? Or do they wash in there during high water from other lakes? Curious how they ended up in there. Also if the trout get stuck in the thick weeds you can open up the bail and they will swim out and give you another chance. Just keep doing that until you get them in.
@coloradocatchcleanandcook3426 Жыл бұрын
Some of the lakes here in Colorado freeze to 8 feet so if I know there going to die I keep them. You have to remember as well they need 4 to 6feet of ice free water minimum for the fish to survive, I'd say a good rule of thumb is if the lake doesn't have 12 to 13 of water most or al of the fish will die.
@bassntroutfishing Жыл бұрын
these are deep enough and only get 1 foot of ice average, there are lakes at 10,000 feet that will have like 3 feet of ice and slush on them. they usually seem to do pretty well with a few winter kills here and there.

Yellow jackets are bad here in the fall. Was hunting with a friend who took a mule deer with his muzzleloader. Had to fight off the yellow hoard. Double net bagged the carcass, killing yellow jackets the whole time. Checked the next morning and there were over fifty dead ones lying on the ground beneath that deer.
