Edit: I think it's also important to know that Sleep Token in studio is just two people, Vessel and II. Vessel not only provides vocal duites, but does all guitars, programming, and handles some production. II does all percussion, including drum programming. Two people making music that sounds this big is hella impressive imo.

I gotta disagree..the studio version has this amazing atmospheric break and build up with lots of open space to make the finale hit even harder as it comes so unexpected this drum solo in the live version is a great add on because 1. u dont have to worry about building up that funk part as the crowd is usually already familiar with the track and knows its coming 2. huge atmospheric parts over 1 minute can get boring for a crowd so in this scenario it is actually important to fill the space to keep the attention span 3. it proves how AMAZING the drummer is live and leaves a huge impression so over all live vs studio are just too vastly different scenarios that need to be treated differently as the listener is looking for different things

Plus, it shows that you can be an absolute beast of a drummer and still make minor errors.

As he said, he's inspired a lot by Pridgen and Royster Jr. If you watch shed sessions, you'll see a lot of guys that play like that. Not taking away anything, it's a compliment as that's an unreal group of percussionists to be inspired by. There's actually a shed session with both royster jr vs pridgen I highly recommend you watch if you haven't. You'll see them both play a lot of licks you see see regularly in II's playing. The man has good taste in percussionists for sure.

I cant begin to describe how much I appreciate this band. The concept of anonymity and mysterious image was something I never knew I would end up absolutely loving, like when I heard someone doxxed them I was so pissed, though there is an air of curiosity I really want to continue knowing them as the mystery band they are now and not break the fantasy, and this is coming from a longtime metalhead in his mid 30s. The musicianship, the hauntingly beautiful atmosphere, the concept of anonymity, makes me feel like I'm experiencing art in an absolute form through musical elements that I love.
