I find the narration terribly irritating. The tone is monotonous and filled with too many pauses and drawn out endings on words. Words should be read at the same pace a person would speak in a conversation. When one speaks to another person the commas don’t get used and a narration is the same thing. I turn the sound off and read if it is an interesting enough tale. As for aliens, who knows and who cares.

Had an experience when I was young. Stayed the night with my sister and nephew. My nephew had a bunk bed with only a bottom bunk mattress. I slept on the floor in my sleeping bag and he slept on his bed. Everyone fell asleep as I laid there for I'm not sure how long, there was no clock in that room but it was still dark outside. I would look from the window to my left and the doorway to my right. All of a sudden I felt someone looking at me and I looked to my right almost in slow motion to see 3 figures standing in the doorway two smaller and one larger in the middle. I was paralyzed and couldn't move or scream. Next everything went grayscale and I seen a ball or light near the top bunk. As soon as I seen it my vision was transferred to it and I all I could do is look down at my own body floating horizontally above my sleeping bag. Then I woke up the next morning, and didn't remember this until years later. I want to try hypnosis and see what else I can remember. I still think about that night to this day. I just want to know why, and does this happen to everyone but they don't remember, or just certain people..

If you live in Ilkley you should know that sinister stories do not exist except for giant Rombald which is no way sinister. Ilkley folk have never ever been afraid of going up on the moors on the contrary Ilkley folk love the moors. Ilkley folk confirmed that the so called " Alien" was in fact a bloke carrying a shopping bag.

Superb writing, narration, visual artistry - and I truly, cannot tell you how much I love and appreciate the unrushed vocal and visual pacing. Not to mention the unique formulation of storytelling. I wish the team success all the way to the stars. PS, another commenter said (on a different video) that if Bedtime Stories put out a book with your stories and the artwork, they would buy. I live on the edge of Ilkley Moor & it is a very strange place; as is the adjoining Baildon Moor. Both have Neolithic carved stones; Ilkley Moor having several stone circles, a huge carved stone known as The Badger Stone & many others. It’s not a place to go if you’re unfamiliar with the moors; in either good or poor weather.

Hypnosis is always a big red flag for me in these sorts of things, because it's been shown to do a very good job of blurring the line between reality and imagination and making the subject very susceptible to picking up and building on any latent expectations the hypnotist might have. Carl Sagan's The Demon Haunted World actually goes into great detail on it and other things related to UFOs, alien encounters, and the like, and I'd recommend it to *anyone* touching on the subject of aliens.

I have my own story about this event. My nan works in homecare.i remember when she told me that she went to a call for an old woman in ilkley whilst she was there this old woman (about 80 odd) spoke to my nan. She told my nan that she actually knew this police officer and I’m pretty sure she showed her the photo of the apparent ‘alien’ believe me or don’t this is a true story.

One thing I did which didn’t seem to make sense was that the subsequent photo of the investigator is not correctly matched. Instead I used Photoshop to merge the two photographs together using other common features - the rocks, width of the path, etc and both the ‘alien’ and the investigator seems to be almost similar heights. The investigator shot is zoomed in, and he’s standing in the wrong place.Matching the path on both shots remedies this and provides a little more context for both photographs. Not only that, the whole set of circumstances of the event and having only one shot is super odd. Even in my film photography days, something like this possibly happening I would have said, ‘screw it’ and shot the whole roll of film.

It was the 80's,cameras were expensive and he was an amateur, what you want a 1080p? Plus you're not prepared for sudden photo like that, a lot goes into composing a shot, shutter speed, iso, adrenaline, exposure etc etc, that's why photoshoots take hours when you're just taking pictures of people professionally.

There is a stone circle up on Ilkley Moor, some friends and I once went up with a tent and camped out there. Walking around the circle at midnight was good fun. There was a light circling in the sky every so often, I am convinced now it was just a helicopter but at the time, in the middle of a deserted moor that has plenty of these stories, at midnight, your mind likes to play tricks.

I have traversed this moor on motorbike with other bikers. I can assure you that strange events occur. On one occasion 5 of us lost 4 hours. On another occasion I stopped at a bridge by the reservoir near Norwood and was subjected to strange fields of static and a horrendous super high pitched noise that came out of nowhere in the darkness (it was past midnight). I became very spooked and returned to my almost new motorbike to find it completely immobilised. I was terrified. Then after a few minutes that felt like an eternity she lit up on her own and 'check 666' was illuminated on the computer panel. I have never been so scared in my life and flew off up the hill at extreme speed. It was very weird.

Have you considered doing a hypnotic regression to find out what happened during the period of missing time? Maybe on the other occasion something else happened as well additionally to what you remember. But with the first case of missing time it is relatively probable that a hypnotic regression would yield some results.

Around 1990 while working in a recruitment consultancy I met an elderly man working as a draughtsman in Manchester who astounded the office by showing round photos of what he said was a genuine ET he'd seen on Ilkley Moor. I remember his name to this day (It was not Philip Spencer). I'm cautious about sharing it on here though.

Elenna DeVargr that is why I never put much into stories where people claim 'alien' encounters. With so much crap going around the last two decades of people wanting to know the 'truth' and all the 'alien' photos and videos online, you would think that if you were given the chance of actually proving their existence and shutting up the debate once and for all, you would go for as much photographic and video footage as you can - and as clear as possible - and not just sit and hide or run off pissing yourself with only a blurry photo or video of odd lights and creatures in the dark.

Being in the 80s, and he was planning to take pics in the first place, he only had a maximum of 30 images on film. More likely 24. If he was taking images anyway, then he might have only had a few free frames left. Or, only one.

im so happy i found this channel, i love the narration, the way these videos are scripted are so enthralling and exciting. on another note, im from west yorkshire (specifically bradford) and my family are big walkers, i know ive never heard any spooky tales of ilkley moor and i know me and my family will have walked there when i was a child. i will have to ask my Grandma about any experiences shes had there. i know theres some places i found very spooky as a child, otley moor, calverly woods and a woods in saltaire (cant remember the proper name) this has really peaked my interest and also gave me some nostalgia, i wouldnt be surprised of any spookyness in the moors as Yorkshire has so many and of course, such huge natural expanses can excite peoples creativity. 💕

I live in Baildon which is just across the river from Saltaire, and I swear I have seen some creepy stuff on Baildon Moor before. Weird shadows and strange noises, stuff like that. I've never seen anything on Ilkley moor though, and I walk there quite regularly.

That weirs second Alien Film he was shown has really fascinated me. My attempts at speculating about it has made me think that either the Second Alien Film showed something even worse happening to Humanity, or something wonderful, kind of like a "You can go in this destructive path, or go in this peaceful path" All I know is that the second film was not too complicated, as the voice asked him if he understood it all, and he nodded.

I find this story interesting because if you look up Ilkley Moor online it is a beautiful highly visited conservation area today. Rolling landscapes covered in heather with boulders and monoliths scattered everywhere, the occasional small creek and fall over rocks, and plenty of wide open views from foot paths. It used to be a popular Grouse hunting area until recently.

The awkward angle of the ET, was probably due to the gravitational difference. Plus the fact that it wasn’t stationary at the time. The observer said”.slight movement to his right attracted his attention. I think the whole sighting and abduction experience was real.

I have seen a UFO.. by the time I registered and realized what I was seeing it was gone. Also, even with modern day cameras or phone cameras.. a flash of blurry light is not worth sharing. Try and take a photo of an extremely fast speeding car (with no prior warning) at night. Honestly. Show me the results.

I had a dream once of an abduction that felt like a suppressed memory was leaking out so to say. I was on a ship not on earth, I knew this as it is very eerily quiet with no other humans around, even in woods it is not that eerily quiet. It's hard to explain. I was laying on a metal table and there was this greyish being. Very thin and lanky with a big head, almost no mouth or nose and big eyes that were jet black and you'd swear were just as dark and cold as space itself. I could sense thoughts coming from the being, but could not detect a single emotion. I couldn't tell what the thoughts tho. It came right up to me, all I could do was move my eyes. I am not scared of anything aside heights and being eaten alive by a shark or bear. But I was so scared I actually went to scream in horror, but nothing came out. And that was all that could be remembered. I know I was dreaming fast asleep, but I knew it was something that was supposed to be suppressed but my mind somehow bypassed it. I never dreamt of it since, but I'll never forget.

While I am not so sure about the photo being "authentic".. I must say ..Don't judge by how many photos were taken . Actual FILM Cameras then didn't have the speed then ,that they do now. In addition , just the fact that he has to get film developed should tell you that he couldn't "Fire off" a ton of quick photos. He may have had a manual advance . Just a thought.

These 'warnings predicting the end of our world' type encounters have been part of UFOlogy for as long as I can remember - didn't they feature in the George Adamski books and the Warminster incident? I'd not heard this story before, which makes it the more interesting. I muist admit that when I saw the first drawing showing the creature, my immediate impression was of a teddy bear!

I remember reading about this story when I was a wee boy about 10 or 11 years old in a book I bought called "The UFO files - alien abductions" which had around 10 different stories from folk who claimed to have seen, encountered or been abducted by aliens. The Ilkley Moor alien story was always my favourite from the book and the image of the being has always stuck with me. Really enjoyed this video on it, took me back to when it scared the shite out of me when I was young! :)

Regardless of the veracity of Spencer's accounts, a little thing I want to note: He was whosn two films. One depicting destruction, war, and pollution. The other, a mystery he'll take to his grave. My deduction is that he was shown a film that details how humanity saves itself from the brink of destruction and to take the great leap into space. The aliens are not aliens, but humans from a few millions years ahead, adapted to life in weightlessness and having developed technology that allows them to travel through time itself. It's just an unfortunate coincidence that in their mission to recover, research, and preserve earth's extinct life, they happened upon a human in a location they thought none would wander to. Maybe they initally had considered taking him as another specimen, but came to second thoughts and treated him with a more pleasing experience: A bleak vision that's only a somber prologue to a bright future. Spencer, however, cannot reveal the film, because then he could alter the course of history and inadvertently doom humanity. Anyhow, this is all pure conjecture on my part, based on little more than fantasy.

Why do all so-called aliens in all alleged encounters appear to be butt-naked?! Also why do they need to be there in person? We have drones in our current state - shouldn't they, as supposed much-higher on the technology scale? And before you write "well maybe these are the actual drones and not flesh-beings" the anatomy is all wrong, more so as something designed - for space you don't actually need legs, maybe 1 or 2 more pairs of hands if we take bilateral symmetry as model; and for Earth-gravity environments those small legs are not suited at all.

Paul daSin: It wouldn't be so weird for the aliens to be naked. After all, even on planet earth the only animal that chooses to dress itself is human and even that doesn't always apply. Regarding the question as to why they'd need to be present personally, that isn't hard to imagine either. Even us humans decide to include ourself personally in scientific research, photography, meteorology and such. We could fly our drones to take pictures of cool places or send robots to ISS instead of people, but we don't because of multitude of reasons. Now, keeping that in mind, is it really so unfathomable that an alien race would do the same? Maybe they're more like us than many imagine and they just want to experience things in person, just as we do.

Yorkshire was a hot-spot for ufo activity in the 70's and 80's. I saw one myself hovering over a barley field one night. I was in south Leeds and walking our family dog in 1978 or 1979. It looked like a large, bright star and not that big as it hovered and moved slowly up, down and over the field, so could have been some kind of probe? I got within maybe 300-400 feet of it and being a 15 year old curious kid, wanted to run up through the adjoining field and have a closer look at it. But it was night and the field I was going to pass through to get there was churned up with mud from the horses in it. Well, the next day after school and after telling my friends that lived on the same small estate, they all took the piss out of me and thought I was making up stories. But the following week my old man saw an article in the Yorkshire evening post about the police chasing a UFO flying at rooftop height, over either otley moors or Ilkley moors the same night I saw my ufo. That's not that far away from where I was. Maybe it was the same ufo and maybe not, but my friends just shut up when I mentioned it to them.
