The Rendelsham Forest incident occurred in December 1980. Reagan took office in January 1981. So Reagan's policies would not have had any effect on the placement of U.S. military in 1980 (when Jimmy Carter was still president), or on the occurrence described here late that year.

My dad was stationed there during this incident. He saw the Sec Fo K9’s cowering behind their handlers when they were trying to go into the forest to investigate and saw lights in the sky. The next day, the base was trying to uproot a section of the forest. Unlike some idiots, he told OSI that he didn’t see anything. Those who did say they saw a UFO, he didn’t see again and Halt’s career was destroyed when he was reassigned to a backwater base :( He can’t stop talking about it when A10’s and England jump into the conversation :/

My dad was stationed at Bentwaters AFB right around the time this happened... he did tell me about driving around the Rendalsham Forest area one time and getting some very strange radio interference in his car! That was the only story he had related to it as far as I know.

@@mirandagoldstine8548 I was stationed not too far away at RAF Coltishall at the time of this incident, It was over Christmas and of course many station personnel were on leave, but i remember the security level was heightened, and we were advised to be vigilant and report any unusual or suspicious activity on or around the station. I don't recall being given any exact reason, but there was still a threat from IRA terrorism at the time, as well as the cold war, so I dont think a heightening of the station security level would have been thought of as unusual by most.

Brilliant Christmas viewing. I think this incident is possibly the greatest UFO incident in the public domain. We all talk about Roswell, but this happened to highly trained military personnel, three highest ranking of which was a well known stickler for the rules and a sceptic. Couple that with the whole episode comprising a series of incidents, this is most definitely up there! Great vid guys, can't wait for part 2.

Although this particular event has been analyzed half-to-death - possibly rivaling only Roswell-Corona in terms of documentation and witnesses - your comprehensive treatment of the encounter and overall context is a welcome addition to it. For example, the object's departure into the forest, moving horizontally and able to execute quick maneuvers between the trees, is entirely new information for me. As is the reports of hovering/zipping lights at RAF Bentwaters at the same time and Lt. Colonel Halt's search of the forest on 28 December. The animation of the object's sudden departure shown at 12:25 here is a perfect capstone for this episode, but your choice of where and how to end this episode is pitch-perfect. I'm quite eager now to find out what chapter 2 will bring!

Thank you for covering this story I've read and re-read "Incident in Rendlesham forest" several times and still find it fascinating. I've visited Rendlesham forest a few times and been to the landing site. Never saw a UFO there but did watch the Palladian meteor shower the forest one night. The skies above Rendlesham forest are very dark and there is a vibe to the place. So much history there with the military bases and bunkers. You get a sense of "what lies beneath?" As you cycle around the perimeter fences...thanks for bringing the story to life.

Been watching your content religiously (as in watching a new video pretty much as soon as it comes out unless I know my friend's coming over in which case I save every video for us to watch together) for over two years now. So much has happened since then and the quality of the audio, the stories, and especially the artwork and animation has improved by leaps and bounds. I remember the big fuss from you guys trying to replace Rich as narrator (sorry mate, you brought this on yourself. You're just too damn good at the job. You ARE Bedtime Stories lol) and I can remember waiting with anticipation for the release of the second halves of Skinwalker Ranch and Man from the Train and which I will be doing again with this multi-part video. I've watched every single video atleast twice if not three times, something I rarely do for anything. I think when I started, you guys had around 150-200k subscribers and I can remember thinking you deserved so many more and deserved them much more than these vlog channels that have millions while putting out bland, unoriginal, low effort content. Rarely have I gotten goosebumps from listening to a video that I've seen five times beforehand like what happens when I rewatch the Crosswade Interloopers story. That's how good your content is. I've always been fascinated about this incident for several years ( thanks bedtime stories for this upload). This incident in terms of a numerous witness testimony albeit militarily professional perspective is unique. Where we have a major cover up lasting 3 full years in which at least a dozen us military personnel where ordered to keep absolute secrecy the events of the 26th, 27th, 28th of December 1980. Until Larry Warren became the whistle-blower in 1983. To cut a long message short, this was and still is the mist intriguing, mysterious incident in my well educated opinion in history. Even a very unassuming high ranking military officer admitted at the time he wish he hadn't of acquiesced and went out to that forest on a freezing December night of the 27 December 1980. Col halt. This event 40 years on is still unexplained, not only that its become a huge economic success for that area in terms of tourism if the area of many thousands of ufo enthusiasts around the world. Personally speaking I'd say theses well respected military personnel certainly would not be putting their reputations on the line by making up fantastical stories toward their superiors or fellow comrades with the significant risk of ridicule and their careers being in jeopardy. An amazing even, still not debunked to this day. Absolutely fascinating.

Ahh classic, my second favorite UFO case, next to the Ariel school landing. Why dont they make a movie out of this one? Since it happened during 3 nights, there is enough material, especially if with a prolouge and epilogue. They should make the movie before Halt dies, hes getting quite old.

They have made it already. About 2 years ago actually. It's called Capel Green. However, it hasn't been released yet due to some dispute or something...

I am not sure there is a dispute. During production a number of new witnesses came forward who were now willing to take part in the film, thus a delay. Then covid came along so further delays etc. There is also rumour that Laurence Fishburneis due to star in a multi generation series based on the incident.

I don’t know if you fellas covered this story yet; but, there was an incident back in 1988 (or so) in (then) West Germany between American Soldiers and an alleged Werewolf.
