Ohh wow, this video is brilliant!! ....how have I not seen this video yet I thought I had seen all of your videos Dan. Oh well, glad I have seen it now. This is an awesome example of one of the main issues the majority of us face out in the field everyday. But I loved how you shows 2 different examples so that we can all see firsthand the difference between one area and another simply because of the reflection the waves hit. And also how cool would it be to have your very own concrete playground where you could run tests like this all the time 😄

Haha. Glad you stumbled upon it and that you liked it. It was super fun playing in there. I might have to build my own...

@@Learngpr yeah I've actually said the same myself. It would be nice to have a controlled area where I can train my new guys and test out new systems and different ideas, all in our own time and not having to deal with a customer on site.

@GeelongCableLocations contact a Concrete cutting outfit in your region, they have slabs set up to train cutters, they will let you use their slabs, I cut, core and GPR'd for 30 years, you might have Graff, or penhall in the USA

Hi..Nice video, what is the range of frequency that is used for inspection?..In order to penetrate better can lower frequencies be used say 300KHz to 800KHz, it will probably bypass the rebars and permitivity of rebars should also drop a bit at that low frequencies, but possible trade off is that the resolution may drop due to longer wavelengths..I am pretty new to this field of inspecting such dielectric materials, but got a lot of experience in inspecting metallic components using low frequency electromagnetic techniques..Please do share more details

Hello my friend, I have a question, what is the maximum depth that the device can check? In other words, is it possible to check the thickness of concrete for foundations (raft) with a thickness of 2.5 meters?

Great question. This system will go .5-1 meter, but there are systems that will inspect 2-3 meters down or more. It will also depend on how dense the reinforcement is. Dense reinforcement will prevent all systems from achieving any great depth.
