Incas are super underrated. They have such an interesting history except nobody even cares to learn just a single bit. It’s very sad that the ability to read quipu, imagine how much we could’ve learned if the language could be understood.

The Spaniards were advanced and it certainly helped on their conquests, but you neglected the number of Indian auxiliaries that were used by the conquistadors. It wasn’t only just 168 men, but thousands of indigenous troops as well.

School answers for my test at least- Incas represents wealth, a vast empire, and Machu Picchu. Connected by a system of roads. It was the largest empire in the world. Astronomers predicted the end of their people. 3 prongs were Diplomacy, Fortifications, and logistics. Road of Inca was a road that went from Quito to Chile connecting everything in between. Quechua is still spoken by 8 million people.

Two of the many reasons the roads helped the Incas so well were because of how they helped messengers pass between relay stations to send messages, and to easily let moving laborers performing their mit’a service go from place to place as needed.

They were wise enough to leverage the long network of roads already built hundreds of years earlier by the Moche people (at least the northern coast part of Peru). The Moche has their messengers called Izhaki Izacaero. Izhaki is where the quechua word Chazki comes from. Both mean 'messenger'.

This story telling is one of most unempathetic I have seen and at many spots wrong. This conquest was Spanish crown subsidized and repeated colonial-driven genocide. More than 8 million people died of disease, warring actions, and lack of governance in the void. This against a population exhibiting no provocation But as conquerers understand, winning the battles and governing are two very different skills
@wilmermejiacarrion5028
@wilmermejiacarrion5028 3 жыл бұрын
In fact, what you say it is not right. First, the conquest of America was not subsidized for spanish crown. Every "conquistador" pay of his own money the trip and weapons. The spanish crown just give permissions. Second, we cannot apply the word "genocide", people die, effectively but most of the time for epidemic diseases. Indeed, the US goverment made real genocide to indigenous peoples in 19th century. and third, There were abuses and violence by the Spanish but this also occurred within the framework of a series of alliances between the Spanish and the ethnic groups subjected by the Incas. Many of the kings of these allied ethnic groups had titles of nobility and wealth.

@@wilmermejiacarrion5028 The hell we can’t. Fact is if not for the Spanish who knows how powerful new world civilizations Could have become. With conquistadors in the picture, all came crumpling down. Cultures, traditions, languages lost forever . What is that “ people die, “ huh. Lmao we know what side you root for. The diseases you speak of only existed because of these very people. In fact as stated in the video helped them tremendously to CONQUER the Incas . Unfortunately the winners write history to their liking after all.
