Hi Ruth...I recently bought from Hortology. The boxes are designed so you cut away the bottom and thus take the top part of the box away because they are all taped in to the bottom of the box. I realised this after breaking a leaf getting one of my plants out! The plants I received were super good quality and a very reasonable price.

This was high drama! Cacti are very hardy, so I trust they'll be fine: Based on how you dealt with that second box, you are part Golden Retriever and they shy away from prickly things : ) Thanks for posting!

I think you open from the side? If you slice the tape it should open like a door?... At least this is how most plant companies do things 😊
