Odin does have to wear an eye patch. He plucked out one of his eyes and traded it for knowledge. There was a story arc in Thor that explained how Odin was missing an eye. It was in Thor Vol 1 #294. Odin's depiction of the three sacrifices which make him all-seeing, all-knowing and aware of the past and the future comes from his ordeal gathering the Runes of Knowledge and Prophecy, the Ashen Spear Gungnir, formed from the wood of the World Tree, Yggdrassil and the sacrifice of his Eye in Mímir's Well.

This is completely random and has nothing to do with the Infinity Gauntlet: I have never understood something about mutants. How the fuck does a genetic mutation allow them to bend reality and shit? Could someone explain that please...
@supoa948910 жыл бұрын
Mainly because they are naturally born with their powers which can grow to incredible heights compared to a hero who got them through external factors, though I'm sure someone can explain it better than me
@pulsarstargrave25610 жыл бұрын
Supo A Maybe Chris Claremont has a website!
@metalore9 жыл бұрын
It's not a regular mutation. Long ago, the Celestials (the giants seen in Guardians of the Galaxy) genetically altered humans so that they eventually would produce mutant superhumans. At the time that the Celestials put this genetic potential into humans, they also created from humans two new races, the superhuman beautiful Eternals (Thanos is actually a mutant Eternal) and the ugly mutated Deviants.
@ragnorke6349 жыл бұрын
Eagle The two most commonly known mutants that can bend reality actually draw their power form something else entirely. Jean Grey draws her power from the Phoenix Force, Scarlet Witch draws her power from the Elder God Cthutan. Their actual mutations are much more simple and weak in comparison, they were merely chosen as hosts.
@Spoilers-Allowed9 жыл бұрын
Levitation, healing factor, eye beams, telekinesis etc. In a universe where those feats are reality, aren't all mutant powers just differing levels of "altering reality". Clearly, genetics doesn't work the same in in 616 as in ours.

Odin actually has lost an eye. According to mythology, Odin drops his eye into the Well of Urd, as payment, so he can drink from it and gain its cosmic knowledge. In certain alternate futures of Marvel, we see King Thor has sacrificed an eye in the same way. However, in the Rune King Thor story line, we see Thor sacrificed both of his eyes to the Well of Urd and gained even greater knowledge and power than Odin ever did.
