Lastly criminals are still people. Most of the time people commit crimes living a life with extremely limited options. The issue is that once someone is released from prison , they now have a giant barrier for employment . This is obv going to be frustrating , and many ppl who tried and got rejected from jobs then starts to have the mindset of “well I’m forever screwed, can’t get a decent job….. crime is easier … Fuck getting a job “
@samanthawhang74989 ай бұрын
No, people don’t change. Behaviors can change, but who someone is, fundamentally, does not change. That’s why some people can come out of jail and can “change”. And some people go in and stay the same or get worse. The truth is, if you are now rehabilitated, you were never a truly bad person. You just made some bad decisions in life.

This whole thing just makes me sad for her,and a bit annoyed. Gypsy has been in prison essentially her entire life up until December! And now she's out, married (I know she got married in prison.... That might make it worse actually), and she's in the constant spotlight. What she needs is quiet, privacy (not that I'm blaming the public for this - - she genuinely seems to be egging it on), and lots of therapy. She has a lot to work through. And being obsessed with being in the social spotlight like this, without having a good, firm idea of who she really is as an independent adult is going to lead to disastrous results. It's just a matter of time before we see tragedy strike her life once again, i guarantee it.

People forget that we are the ones who make people famous. Anyone who we are interested in, that media can make money off, can be famous. There's no rule that says 'you can't be famous because you k*lled someone'. I think the more balanced among us are interested in Gypsy because as you said, this is a rare story of someone who ensured horrific things, did horrific things to survive, did time and is now free for the first time. I think it's normal to want to hear her story in her own words, as this is the first time she has ever freely been able to do so. However, she does deserve to be protected. Unfortunately the media are vultures, so they don't care about her wellbeing or how they paint her, they just run with it. The public who are being openly horrible to or about Gypsy also just fuel the mass intrigue and create more attention, more money for the media etc. No one's actually out there looking out for Gypsy as a human among all this. I don't mean her family or Ryan, I mean a media team, a PR team, a manager that doesn't use her and a good legal team on a payroll. I feel like knowing how much fame she had upon release that there should have been so much more in place regarding media protection. It's all very fast and the only person I care about is Gypsy. She wants to use her platform for good, but I just hope she paces herself and has good people around her to help her manage the highs and lows of social media and media. It is not easy for anyone to be in the public eye, nevermind for someone who has been in prison for the last 8 years. It could feel incredibly overwhelming and invasive especially after the novelty wears off.
