I'm pretty sure that's just what most internet goers are wired to think when someone we don't like tries to defend themselves. If it's someone they like, they're just getting the truth out. If it's someone they don't like, any explanation is a power play designed to work for their own benefit, since that's all explanations do anyway, apparently. I really wish I didn't do this too, but it's a heuristic that makes simple decisions easier, even though it has no place in serious conversations. "I'm not hurting him. It was just a movie!" Google Definition: "a grain used for food, such as wheat, oats, or corn." its not the Cereal people usually think of as in the breakfast food you eat with milk usually. But that isnt the only definition of Cereal and its actually derived from the definition of using grains for food since breakfast cereals are usually grain based foods.

I "like" plain oatmeal cuz it's the only thing I can eat for breakfast anymore that doesn't mess me up. Certified gluten-free oats, water (for the cooking part), and salt. That's it. No milk or anything on it. And if I overcook it by accident, it ends up tasting a bit like hashbrowns. I haven't eaten hashbrowns in like... a decade. Tastebuds are weird.
