The Ironman F2 | Cherry topped Modern Grey

Maaan this video is really good, love the sound. I have an F2 with Alu plate but really wanna rebuild it either plateless or half fr4 plate. I saw in another comment you have done another F2s builds, you think still plateless might be better than half plate? Also if you don’t mind recommending some switches for those builds I would love it. Preferably something not franken

Thank you for supporting the channel! Having built several F2s over the past year or more in various configurations, my preference (and also based on feedback from the owners of the said boards) is to build them plateless. The sound and typing feel is exceptional in plateless form. Choice of switch is quite personal; I've had good success with both regular switches like nixies/mxblacks as well as long pole pom switches like various SWK switches.

Do you prefer plateless or the V1.1 plate? I’m planning on getting the Burgundy one and build it with the V1.1 or do it plateless. But I don’t know what to choose. I’m planning to build it with Mx Blacks.

I have tried both and with a variety of switches. Plateless is the only way to build this keyboard IMHO and it's an absolute banger

it's a PC + Nylon mix for both top and bottom housing

@@studio20creations how does it sounds compare to gat raws? thinking to buy gat raws but scared that they would sounds similar as i already have cream sodas which sounds quite similar to gat modern gray

Raws are quite different; higher pitched & louder than grey

Personally I like the F1 best with the v1.1 alu plate & F2 built plateless. They are quite different and depends on if you prefer building with a plate or without. Can't go wrong with either choice!
