first of all, I wish you happy holidays ♥
we played herra and even got an egg. we had a fun session and I love herra straight away. but, I have to get used to the climbing. I really struggle to aim down at prey sometimes. anyway, it was our first try and in general I think herra will be hilarious to play :)

It depends. The Herrera in game isn’t smaller than the real world animal it is just Herrera has a crazy amount of size variation. Some adults did reach much larger sizes than what is depicted in The Isle but some adult specimens do appear to have been much smaller than the bigger morph. I imagine the devs went with the smaller morph since it would make more sense for an agile tree climber than the dilo sized larger morph. At this point in time we are unsure what causes the large differences in fully grown sizes for herrera, it could be sexual dimorphism or even separate species within the Herrerasaurus genus or it could simply be a case of individual gigantism or dwarfism being preserved.

I think it should be able to pounce like Utah but on the ground you can only pounce from a short distance away and you need to rely on a tree to pounce from a farther distance, it could be able to pin something down as large as a dilo but anything bigger would just be latched on, it’d be a lot more powerful than utahraptor pounce but it costs a lot more stamina, it’s like a leopard in this game, an arboreal glass cannon animal that hunts prey by ambush, usually in the trees, but currently in the game if the animal survives the initial attack it can easily kill you or run off so removing the claw slash with a pounce would be better IMO

Finally some Herra gameplay!! Yeah, raptors have sixth sense to detect you but the fight with the dilo was just good. Poor animals cannot turn fast so with this dive mechanics Herra can outperform them in the water. Happy Holiday and good luck! To all - Merry Christmas.

Holding right click when you pounce from the tree as well makes it register as an attack as well in the future when you begin pouncing pesky Dinos. Merry Christmas!

Herrera is so much fun! I finally manage to ambush a dino from tree mombie! 😁 The trick is you need to do horizontal position of a branch that don't have any obstacle, like palm trees or something like that and then face the opposite direction (180 degrees) from your dino, that way you got wide range of ambush attack. I manage to one shot an oblivious Omni but i don't think it was fully grown, but still that felt good! 😁 I Wish you have the greatest holiday this year, mombie! 🥰
