Edward Norton is such an enigma. A "serious" actor with artistic pretensions who seems to have mostly made fairly unremarkable movies.

He just can't accept that he's just a guy acting, doing a job, like a bunch of other people doing the same thing, and it's not a big deal. In his mind he's better than all the material.

I don't really think there's a great defense to his role in Alita, which I personally loved, but it wasn't high cinema. Norton just sulks around and is supposed to be the big bad but looks like a Spy Kids 3 character

Honestly the Original ending to American History X would have been so much better. The movie is still pretty good but it would have been way more true to the cycle of hate. Edward Norton always comes off as pretentious, always seems to bleed through from his real persona to whatever character he's playing.

2:40 I completely agree, this was my favorite movie when I was younger cause it felt so real, it felt like this heist could happen. Can't tell whether Ed Norton is a legend or a complete tool
@JoeChillton5 жыл бұрын
Both?
@firstnamelastname3645 жыл бұрын
He's a legend I think. Takes his craft seriously and had he had a better agent/been more wise with his decisions then he could've been at the A-List of male actors. But instead he made enemies and picked bad roles and he fell off. But I still think he's in the upper echelon of male actors of the late 90s/early 00s imo. Up there with the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, etc. I think an actor just needs a really good agent to succeed though. That's why Leo's had practically the perfect career but everything that Norton's touched has soured up. Difference between picking the right role and the wrong role.
