One of my friends actually ordered a tee-shirt he found hilarious after a game. It was a stick figure with a long schlong with the text "Why are you?" for those wondering. And he said it was actually really comfortable and worth the less than $20 he paid.

I’ve actually gone through all these Jackbox Pack reviews to sum up all the games for my family to see what we should get. It was the only source of reliable descriptions of the games. All the other videos had people talking over the rules to friends or they just muted the game. I’m glad you went over the games themselves. Thanks for that, man!

@@TarlukLegion There are weird tradeoffs there. KZbin favours videos that are older, and with high views. This is my personal favorite jackbox party pack. The only game that I'm not that big a fan of is guesspionage (I'm one of the odd people who loves tee k.o)
@2leftthumbs4 жыл бұрын
Each pack seems to have 2 really strong games (ie. Quiplash and Trivia Murder Party), 1 that people can take or leave (probably Fakin It here) and then likely 2 more games that people either love or hate (this pack it'd be Guesspionage and TeeKO). It works out, because that means there is a wider variety of games, and someone will almost always be a fan of the games that others dislike.

Quiplash 2- really great especially with a good group of people Gueespionage- eh Trivia Murder Party- a good game but the mini games are nowhere near as good as in the sequel Fakin It- really fun but sadly not stream friendly, I saw someone playing this which hit me into Jackbox Tee K O- my absolute favorite game, I even have fun with bad groups of people. Most funny moments and it’s great to see your contributions be used in funny/creative ways

This is the most well rounded pack. Not a single game is bad. I one minor problem though. Quiplash 2's last round is only good in my opinion if its comic lash but otherwise its great. My only other problem is i seem to be the only person on earth who loves guesspionage so none of my friends will play that one but thats a personal issue. Fakin it is fucking amazing tho, actually my favourite in the pack
@2leftthumbs4 жыл бұрын
I hope Quiplash 3 has a better final round! I agree that the Acrolash has always been weak. Comic Lash is the best, and even then can be hit-or-miss. I like Guesspionage as well!! But I can appreciate that some of the answers are just baffling. And that can easily become a turn-off.

I remember playing TKO with some people on a discord server and the second round came and I got the slogan "Jesus was an Arab" and my immediate reaction was "Okay, I just need a drawing that DOESN'T COMPROMISE this and I'm golden." . Lo and behold there's a smiling face in the pile for me. That T-shirt had a close battle with my slogan "God nor Jesus cares".

First of all, great review. I was quite surprised when I didn't see this video on the 2 Left Thumbs channel, since I subscribed to that channel specifically for the type of content that seems to be on this channel instead (in my case, I found your Jackbox reviews first but a lot of the other content in this channel seems right up my alley). I wonder if it would be better off to reverse the roles you have each channel set to now: maybe have this channel, Two Left Thumbs be for let's play content and 2 Left Thumbs be for this kind of high-quality content, and reupload the videos you already have here to the other channel. I was actually quite surprised by your outlook on Tee KO; I've hosted various sessions of Jackbox in my Discord group, with anywhere between as few as 4 people and as high as 11 people, and what most people in my group have agreed on is that they all really enjoy it. It's the game that's gotten the most laughs out of the entire bunch, and it's created the most memorable in-jokes for us. Part of it is that one of our most frequent members has a drawing tablet and has a more grotesquely enjoyable artstyle, I will confess, but it's not like the others just phoned it in, either. Maybe it's just that my group setting works really well with this type of game, where it otherwise might not work for another type of group? I dunno. And I noticed that, unlike QuipLash, people didn't have to be quite as good at being funny and clever to still have a good time. Which segways into QuipLash 2: my personal opinion is that it's still one of the all-time greats of Jackbox and I'm really excited for QuipLash 3, but it surprisingly meshed a little more poorly than I would've liked in my group, even though we still play it decently often. There were a few folks who just weren't quite as good at being funny with the quips in our group and they actually felt like outsiders to the point where they just stopped playing Jackbox with us, which kinda soured it a little bit for me as the host since I really liked having them along. I also really like Trivia Murder Party, to the same level I do for QuipLash (and Tee KO in the group I'm hosting) but the other members of my group don't seem to like it as much. They only really enjoy the final round and not as much the minigames and the trivia prevalent in the first round. Part of this might be that my group tends to be made up of those in their late teens / early twenties and so don't know as much trivia, but either way it seems like this is a game I'll have to just play with my IRL friends and family. Guesspionage seemed much like a filler game to me. If a game like Zeeple Dome is unquestionably a dud game and Joke Boat is a half-dud, Guesspionage seems like a quarter-dud to me. It can still be enjoyable, but I think the way they polled many of these questions is inherently flawed. (I highly doubt that there are more people with 1000 Twitter followers than there are people who have ridden in the sidecar of a motorcycle). I'd like to see a second try at this kind of game with a different polling structure, though it'd have to be one that couldn't be manipulated by bots and the like. I couldn't say anything about Fakin' It, since there is literally no way I can play this over Discord streams, and I haven't gotten the opportunity to play it with IRL family at all. There's nothing I can really say about this, other than maybe ask if Push the Button succeeds in the areas where Fakin' It failed as a Jackbox game (primarily the inability to play it online in any capacity).
@2leftthumbs4 жыл бұрын
I did think about the possibilities of which channel would become more complicated content, and which would be lets plays. But with nearly 2000 lets play already present on "2 Left Thumbs" it felt like it would be a massive shift to try to bring that audience somewhere new. I feel like it's best to let that channel carry forward as-is rather than starting over. I had more faith that this new channel would work better with reviews and essays, because it's sliiiightly easier to get more complicated and more intricate video topics like that in front of people (hopefully!) So far it seems to be working out quite well!
@2leftthumbs4 жыл бұрын
Tee KO is a weird one. It really does require the right group, which makes it hard to recommend. But that's great to hear that you guys have really made it work for you! It's true that the same could be said for Quiplash. And Mad Verse City, and most other games now that I think about it... Games that venture into asking a little more skill from the player really will be dramatically affected by the group. I guess that's the beauty of the Jackbox packs! They do seem to consciously make sure there are a variety of more and less demanding games. "If a game like Zeeple Dome is unquestionably a dud game and Joke Boat is a half-dud, Guesspionage seems like a quarter-dud to me" I'd say that matches my view of those 3 games quite well haha. Joke Boat and Guesspionage are redeemable, but both can easily overstay their welcome. Push The Button is *definitely* the evolution of Fakin It! I think Fakin It is still a lot of fun, but Push The Button really game-ified it in a much better way, and made it a much more exciting experience.

TEE K.O. is easily a big hit-or-miss game. If it misses, it's because you don't have many great and inspiring artists in your group that can come up with slogans, so it ends up not being very entertaining. On the other hand, it's a million times better WITH skilled and funny artists, especially if streamed on Twitch with a massive audience. I like participating as the audience, but I don't like drawing or creating slogans because I'm not that creative.
