Damn, I wish my group wanted to play Jackbox all the time. I introduced them to it and I'm the only one that ended up getting hooked, leaving me with an addiction I can not fulfill. To tie this back to the video, Word Spud is so anomalous dude, I would love to hear what the devs have to say about it. There is something oddly enticing about Word Spud's empty aesthetic and bizarre background music that makes it feel like some sort of portal to another dimension. And... why a spud, where does the potato come from??? My theory is that Word Spud had to be made to stop some sort of eldritch being (likely one that has something to do with potatoes) from breaking into the world. Word Spud 2 is an inevitability in order to keep that eldritch being away for longer.

The potato references those other-worldly secrets that were buried deep beneath the earth!

Party Pack 1 is definitely aged since all the strongest games on it now have bigger and better versions (although I may actually prefer YDKJ 2015), making it not often one worth revisiting unless you're just a huge Word Spud fan for whatever reason. Still a very solid purchase if you have no others and don't know which one to buy, all the other packs only have 1 of the 3 strong games in this pack at most.

Thanks so much for your video! I'm on a budget and the first pack is the only thing I can afford out of the whole series, so I'm glad to hear you and your friends got so much mileage out of Drawful and Fibbage - will pick this up for game night with friends!

I've enjoyed playing Jackbox games over zoom, after watching some of your reviews. My only problem is lacking people who wants to play at the same time, and while the 4 player limit on you don't know Jack is a drawback for it - I'm running into times where I don't have enough players to do several games in a pack.
@2leftthumbs4 жыл бұрын
While 5-7 is ideal for most games, I would say those that work fine, or sometimes better with fewer players would be: YDKJ 2015 (but that's more because it's a forced limit), Bomb Corp, and Role Models. It's almost a shame there aren't a couple more that cater to smaller groups

Hey Bailey! You might wanna check out Twitch! I host Jackbox Saturday on my twitch channel every week to play games with viewers and it's really fun. I always have lots of people that join in and I know there are a lot of twitch channels you can find that do something similar if you are just looking to play :)

You say that Lie Swatter is Schmitty's first game... Wrong. He hosted a BUNCH of You Don't Know Jack's in the past. Like, nearly as many as Cookie, and definitely a lot more UNIQUE ones! And everyone will tell you that flipping him off is the absolute highlight of those games!

Fun fact :wordspud is a in fact a remake of a flash experement created by jellyvision in 2001

The player limit on You Don’t Know Jack did get annoying. We always made teams so everyone could play, but teams aren’t really fair :/
@2leftthumbs4 жыл бұрын
We've done that with some games before as well. It typically just doesn't work that well eh?

My review: YDKJ 2015: this one is pretty good! 9/10 Fibbage: it’s good ol’ fibbage! But I recommend the other sequels, 8/10 Drawful: it’s really funny! 8/10 Lie swatter: if you wanna play lie swatter, just flip a coin for 2 hours. 1/10 Word spud: it’s very rare to it be fun. 1.9/10 So this one is a 7/10

I try to play Jackbox with my little siblings and cousin but my brother and sister gets mad when someone joins before them and they can’t start the game then they cry and we have to stop playing. To be fair they are little I wish I had actual friends to play with XD

Hey Graeme, I have packs 3, 4, and 7. Which pack do you recommend I get next?
@2leftthumbs4 жыл бұрын
5 and 6 are both fun. Both offer solid trivia. 5 has Split the Room and Mad Verse City 6 has Role Models and Push the Button. Those have been specific standouts within out own friend group. You'll have to look at those more closely and see what matches best with you/your friends

Its best word spud by writting sentence that relate to each other rather than words. Ex: elon musk went to McDonalds. He ate a burger from outter space

I would like to point out that this pack is NOT the first game with schmitty in it. He actually was in a few games prior to the first jackbox party pack, like you don’t know jack… 6, I believe?

Hmm. Probably 5? I think the best represents different game types compared to what you already have. Or honestly, get the standalone Drawful 2! That would be a good addition

Thank you so much for these videos. I have a question, I am starting a twitch channel and I want to invite about 50 people to come watch my channel on the first day. (most of whom will come). I’m think of playing a few of the jackbox party games. My question is, which Jack box part pack do you think I should go for? I will eventually buy the other ones, too but I don’t want to spend a lot now.
@2leftthumbs3 жыл бұрын
Some of the more recent ones have better audience features. But there are always sales, that more heavily discount the earlier packs. And so best bang for your buck is probably going to be the JBPP3

Wordspud is great, you can play it in a way that you're all collaboratively telling a whole story :D I think you need some improv skill on the spot and be witty about where you want to lead the next words into.
