Obviously this is a little longer than my usual JackBox reviews... I went extra in-depth on the mechanics of each game, and tried to *really* pay close attention to everything I felt did and didn't work for each. Is this too long? Did I go too far? Or do you now wish that all my JackBox reviews were more in-depth? I genuinely would love to hear your thoughts on that!

I feel that in Job Job, if you fail to submit an answer, you should not have a chance to win points. Just take the person who submitted an answer and pair that person with someone else. If there is an odd amount of players, the game already has a system where it pits 3 players against each other
@2leftthumbs
@2leftthumbs 3 жыл бұрын
Non-submissions *really* hurt the game. It either over-ly rewards the player who did submit, or potentially rewards a player for a non-answer. It's a rather broken aspect of the game for sure

Those moonshot type game ideas rarely pay off - but they put together a few gems this time around. Weapons Drawn won't appeal to many. But it's going to be worth the pricetag alone for a select number of people!

The friend group said "Job Job might work, we aren't that creative though" but it got us laughing mad 40 minutes in a row due to having two chaotic games. Weapons Drawn was similar but they said it'll be fun, it just left us confused but still had the "confused but it felt great" experience in the end.

I absolutely adore the music, the style and the gameplay of Weapons Drawn but its complexity makes it difficult to just pick up in a session. One issue my friends and I started to notice was determining who's drawing was who's based off their art style, instead of deducing the hidden letter. One of my favorites nonetheless.

What made me love Job Job is how limiting the word bank can be and how creative you have to be. One prompt I remember was something like "The christmas tree in the office is still up in march. How do you take it down?" I was struggling to write a sentence with the words I had, and even used up half my time. Untill I found one word. Arson.

In reference to your comments about this pack's quality: I feel that this was the first pack that made me really wish they'd go back and update some of their previous packs to the same standard of quality as this one. Same gameplay, nothing touched there, but with all the new menus and ease of access features and those little preview icons. EDIT: I feel like Weapons Drawn works so much better with 4-5 players. When you can hear each other and aren't talking over each other, it becomes a lot more comprehensible.

I've only played one round of Weapons Drawn with my friends and we were confused af about how to play, but we still had a lot of fun trying to integrate letters into weapons and trying to guess which weapon matches up with the other. After watching this video and getting a better understanding on how to play, I think this one is gonna be our go to game for when we are all worn out with all of the jokes and want something more relaxed. Probably my second favorite game in this pack next to Job Job.

I agree with your conclusion about this pack feeling like the games are echoing previous packs. My biggest worry for future Jackbox games would be the devs running out of ideas and just adding new gimmicks to old games to make them more complicated. Jackbox 7 was excellent because all of the non-sequel games felt fresh to me (or at least were superior alternatives to older games, i.e. Champ'd Up completely replaced Tee KO in my group's rotation of Jackbox games we regularly play, and we loved Tee KO), but I'm struggling to justify picking up 8 because all the games feel like games from older packs with some extra rules that don't necessarily make the games more fun to play. I will say the presentation is A+ though, love how they keep on amping up the visuals and music with each new pack

I’m…not sure how you could say that this pack is really echo-y? There’s our token sequel, and a quiplash-like, but other than that all of the other games seem pretty fresh and new to me. It’s still a far cry from Party Pack 4, that’s for sure.

I played weapons drawn with a group of 4 friends (and me, so sadly only 5), but by the end, it was literally the most fun and interesting game I have EVER played in Jackbox. We were all huddled around the TV, trying to find the letters in the cold cases, and due to only having 5 people, we remembered each person's calling card. It was an absolute blast, but I have to wonder about its replayability. We played it twice, and even at the start of round 2 we had gotten the letters and the mechanics drilled down so well, it wasn't even a social deduction game; It was a game about finding the letter in the pictures (which was still fun, but kind of changed the point). Now that we've gotten the game down so hard, how fun will it be to replay it?

Gotta say, I adore Pack 8. It’s just stupid amounts of fun! Here’s what I think about the games individually: Drawful Animate: Love it! It’s just Drawful, but with animations. Always a fun time. As an aspiring animator myself, it’s fun to see what weird things come up throughout the game. Not only that, the little changes they made to the game compared to previous entries make this the best version of the three out there! The Wheel: It’s just pure chaos. And I love it. I always love the Jackbox trivia games even though I know nothing about trivia, and this game really makes the experience a lot more enjoyable. And the end part where your longing question gets answered makes the whole experience worth it in the end. Job Job: EASILY my favorite. When I got to play this game early, it was so much fun to play. Probably the most I’ve laughed in a long time. But when you’ve got an unfunny person in your group, it kinda drags it down. But that’s nothing about the game itself, just my personal experience - it’s a great time all around! I’d even go out to say that I prefer it to Quiplash! Poll Mine: Honestly, this was fun! I will say, I’m still quite salty about how one of the members of my team chose an obviously wrong answer and screwed us all over. We ended up being so noisy that one person left from all the pressure and they remained AFK for the rest of the game. But that’s just my personal experience in my own situational setup - it has nothing to do with the actual game. My team was just bad. The critical thinking involved makes this one very engaging. Weapons Drawn: Not sure what you were getting at with saying that this is overly complex - if anything, Push The Button has to be the most complicated game yet. I found that they struck a great balance of being simple, yet throwing in some very interesting elements to make it feel fresh. Overall, great pack! Not the greatest, I’d say, but Job Job is a great standout to me. I’ll have to play this more to form a more comprehensive opinion of it, but it’s a welcome addition to the series!

(If you have someone who doesn't pick up on rules easily in your group, the entire experience of playing Weapons Drawn is completely ruined for them because it is such a long game. I agree that it definitely could be a standalone title separate from the party pack because it has such an emense depth to it. It's a phenomenal game, my favorite out of all of them in the pack as I am a social deduction addict, but that's why other people have not much fun with the game. Its the same way with push the button except that push the button uses a much more familiar social deduction format, while Weapons Drawn completely reshapes the formula).

@@moshimeshowu747 I’d have to agree, honestly. Fun game, but if one or more people don’t quite get it, it’s hard for it to be enjoyable. Weapons Drawn gets a lot of things right, though, so as long as everyone knows what’s up, it can be very fun.

I love that they're becoming more aware of some user friendly things, like you said, with the at-a-glance information about the games. I definitely think they should add an option to kick people, just in case someone does have to leave. Thankfully, I only had 1 person have to leave suddenly during Job Job and the extended timers weren't so bad. I also think that they have yet to really improve on the game tutorials-- they're still a bit convoluted or too vague, where playing through some games is still confusing, haha. It's hard to pay attention sometimes when you're palling around, though. Part of why Job Job didn't go well in the stream, probably, was that we didn't know that we needed to use ALL of the character limits. Yeah, she says to be descriptive which would indicate pull out the fancy adjectives, rather than use as many words as you can cram into it. Weapons Drawn would have benefited from a much better explanation, but also having some sort of "detective pad" they give you to take notes in the screen, even if it's just checkboxes. They just need to get more direct w/their instructions, probably. They have great writers for content, but lack in the technical portions. I loved this review! You were extremely fair and broke down a lot of the nuance I think a lot of people would miss otherwise. Good job... job! ;P

Weapons drawn works well if you have all the players use and shorten their actual names to 4 characters, because we found that longer names have an advantage. Also, once you start recognizing the fonts, it becomes way too easy to find the calling cards, especially as the person who always hosts.

15:00 - From the footage I saw of _Wheel_ , I figured the Winner Wheel was weighted toward landing on skulls for a while, on top of the regular chance. In the plays I've had with my friends, I can confirm this is _not_ the case. The game can and likely will end after the second round of trivia.

I can't blame you for being salty at your points being swaped. One time while playing with a streamer, we were playing Press the Button with 3 aliens, and it was the end of the game with uncertainity about who was an alien and who wasnt. It was my press, and I placed all 3 aliens in the airlock, one of which was the streamer. They were not ejected. Next player player pressed, put ME and 2 others in the airlock, vote went through. When it revealed that the players I had put in the airlock were all aliens (again, including the streamer [who did a phat dab on us by the way]) and we could've won, needless to say, I was upset. Moral: play amungus not pes da buton.

Personally my order of games would go: 1. Poll Mine - It's super fun to play with a group of friends, the discussion aspect and trying to deduce stuff is fun, and the competitive aspect added in makes it even more enjoyable 2. Job Job - Another great game, my friends and I are big fans of Quiplash and Survive the internet so it always goes down well, my only issue is sometimes you get super bad luck with words (due to people writing bad sentences or barely writing at all) and can make it less enjoyable, which keeps it from top spot 3. Drawful: Animate - It's Drawful, but now twice! a fun game but because of the basic premise and most of us not being artists it just stays in the middle, although like you mentioned the new way of writing really does help 4. Weapons Drawn - The premise is cool but I share the same stance as you, the game starts off incredibly slow with a lot of down time, but then when it gets going you don't have enough time to meaningfully work anything out which really doesn't bode well with how complex the game is compared to others. 5. The Wheel of Enormous Proportions (TWoEP) - This comes bottom of the barrel as we're not all massive fans of the trivia games, the only exceptions being Fibbage (which my friends tolerate, but I love) and Trivia Murder Party (which we all love) The problem with TWoEP is that the questions are fun to answer, as unlike the previously mentioned games, there doesn't seem to be any whacky questions which are fun to answer, and the lack of interaction, be it a mini-game to take people out the game or the suspense of seeing the false answers, other than spinning the wheel (which felt more annoying than fun, especially paired with the down time during it, we played with 7 people I believe so I don't even want to imagine 10) just left us wanting to avoid the pack. Overall a solid pack with, IN MY OPINION, only one poor game, 2 great ones, an above average one and an average one. I'll definitely be visiting this one regularly, unlike pack 7, which I felt was a major let down.

Great Review as always that goes way more in-depth into each game, something that I really like! Surprisingly kinda sums up my personal review of the pack overall. Weapons Drawn is a complicated game that people may either really love or not depending if they can understand the game enough. But there are some other tiny things in the game that lower it for me. But despite that, I still really like this game, but not as much as some other games in this pack. The Poll Mine is a cool game that is personally better then Guesspionage. But there definitely should be an option to toggle off Played-Based Polls. Job Job is a great game that's basically Quiplash but with an extra step to it, and I have nothing else to say. Great Game! BIG Wheel is personally a good game that reminds me of my good skill and horrendous luck. But that Power Slice is far to OP. You could literally gain 10,000 points in Round 3 if you manage to get Pick a Winner or Hide and Seek, or y'know make someone hate u with Swap Points. I like this game, but the Power Slice kinda lowers it a bit. Drawful Animate is my favorite gams in this pack due to how much customization there is to it. You could play normally, try out some Featured Content and try their prompts, maybe make your own prompts, or try Friend Mode where all the prompts are about the players. Truly is a great sequel game in my opinion. Once again Great Review of this pack that kinda matches mine in a way! Also thanks for letting the viewers play the game early, I definitely had fun!

I know im late writing this, but thank you for this review! It was great to hear your opinions on these games. My favourite one in this pack is easily the wheel of enormous proportions. I know a lot of people dont like the wheel, but to me, its amazing. I love the different trivia questions, and to me, its not too chaotic. Players swapping points is only one feature of the power slice, which has multiple features, and even if you do swap points, you can still easily come back, with the pot increasing every spin. Not to mention the theme for this game is outstanding. To me, this game gets slept on a lot, and for me, its a 9/10. Least favourite one is weapons drawn. Im not much of a drawing guy, and on top of that, me and my friends had no idea what we were doing. Job job is my second favourite game in the pack.

I played through a few times with some friends - and agree with a lot of this. Job Job got the most laughs while playing - especially with a more "mature" game setting. The one drawback is that the people that didn't write as much don't get punished for it. Most of us tried to write as much as possible in the ice breakers, but one or two people writing very little hurt the game. I like the Wheel of EP, but I'm a big trivia buff. I felt some the questions were rather tricky - or at least very niche. I think it's a good one for audiences because there is a lot of onscreen gameplay rather than just "brainstorm" time. Once you get enough people to figure out Weapons Drawn I think it can be a good game. I started to get it on my second playthrough but there were still a lot of people guessing on things it couldn't be.

To better deal with players that DC, if a player is unresponsive in a round, they should be flagged by the game as DC'd and then have to press a button to acknowledge they are back. While they are flagged as Dc'd, the game should ignore them as a player and proceed when all other players are ready even if there is time left on the clock. This would make any long extended timers less of a concern too.

I play Jackbox with two groups, and they mostly felt the same about each game: *Drawful Animate:* It's fun, and it's different enough from Drawful, but Gartic Phone does it better. If you just want a quick fun drawing game with the old gameplay style though, it's one of the better ones in the pack. *Wheel:* Some liked it OK, a few absolutely hated it, nobody really loved it. Too random, too long, and too much going on between seemingly unrelated segments. Most didn't understand why they were doing everything. *Job Job:* Big hit with everyone. An all-timer. We're a silly bunch, so the interview answers are goofy and insane. *Poll Mine:* It's fun and sparks interesting debates, though it's not especially funny. Some more humor would go a long way, though nobody disliked it. The only issue is when there are uneven teams. *Weapons Drawn:* Most agreed that it was a great concept, but was too convoluted and had way too much surrounding it. Explaining the rules per each phase (or simplifying it) would do a lot for it. Nobody really "got" it until at least 2nd playthrough.

One thing I hate about some audience based games is if you play them on stream and each audience member is given an entire vote it doesn't even matter what the people playing the game vote on anymore. The percentage system is so much better.

They got most of the prompts for drawful by playing it themselves, if they saw a funny guess for what the animation could be they would use that as a prompt. they said that in a stream

Now I've played some of this pack and I love weapons drawn. It's such a fun game. However, my group has noticed some bugs with these games. I know that this is a brand new pack, some bugs should be expected. Like sometimes we have players unable to submit drawings in not only weapons drawn, but with drawful animated. We had the game completely crash on us when playing the wheel of enormous portions when playing the tutorial. Job Job seems to be the most stable of the bunch, while Poll Mines we had slight issues were fixed by refreshing the page. I hope these small errors are fixed, but its worrying to me when everything works just fine only to find out from another player that their submit button doesn't work. But besides that, it's a really fun pack from what I've played Edit: so I played every game in this pack again and I have a few gripes. First off, I really dislike the wheel. I still have no idea how the rules work since I haven't seen the tutorial, but it seems like one of those games where you have to be really good with trivia or very lucky. I was doing my best with this game and barely have 9,000 points when everyone else had double digits, 3 had enough to win the game. Unlike other trivia games where I still feel like I have a fighting chance to turn it around for the win, here even though the wheel called me out saying that he thinks I will win I just wanted to give up. Games like Trivia Murder Party, money only helps the final escape, and even then it's to decide where all the ghosts land. Heck in the rare case of all the players dead in 1 round, money decides who gets brought back. Maybe it's just me, but the wheel is that one game that I don't think I'll play again, even after the tutorial.

While I do agree that there is a major barrier of entry to Weapons Drawn, I do think you are over explaining it and being slightly unfair. The game’s base rules are “draw 2 pictures incorporating a letter from your name, name a guest that can’t be traced back to you, try to match the guests with the players, and find the letters from player’s names in the drawings from said murders”. Almost everything you explained in your summary, while true, are generally advanced mechanics, which is likely a reason why your party was confused when you tried to explain it to them. Me and my friends did have trouble understanding the first round we did, but so long as we just stuck to these basic mechanics, we started understanding in the second round and only started using advanced mechanics in the next game. In short, I think you could avoid a lot of confusion if you just make sure everyone knows the basic premise and don’t explain unnecessary stuff until later. But anyways, I thought some of the other stuff you said was fair, and other than that I really like your review, keep up the good work :)

This is honestly my favourite pack. Weapons Drawn is too complicated for its own good but other than that the game has a bit of everything, and everything is done well. I personally enjoy trivia games and Wheel does a good job at recreating a trivia game show. Job Job is the make people laugh game, Poll Mine is great for team work (although when the prompts are bad the game kinda falls apart) and Drawful is a good social deduction game with fun drawing elements

Watching your videos on JackBox for whatever reason, gives me an idea for a JackBox game: ~Divine Matters~ It’s a card game about traitors and traders where in þe players are gods trying to get to a goal þat þe oþer don’t know. (If þey do know, þey can accuse you. If þe accuser was right, þey can take any þe accused party’s cards, but if þey are wrong þe accused can take any of þe accuser’s cards) Þe gods can send public or private messages to þe oþer gods but any card trades are public. Þe winner/winners are decided by people who gotten þeir goals and anyone þey have as a friend

I also þink it’d be cool for each of þe 9 deities to have different miracles, plagues, and benefits. Miracles and Plagues are cards which can be used during normal gameplay to affect your fellow gods, or you could trade þem to do þe same þing, or trade þem inactivated to give oþer players power. Benefits I feel are self explanatory, but if you need some examples: A)Love God-more worshipers made B)War God-More kills during a conflict C)Hunting God-þe ability for worshippers to get Meat from worshippers D)Moon God-needs less energy to make structures E)Nature God-more bread from farms F)Deaþ God-keeping temporary ghosts after deaþ

As a huge jackbox fan I wanted to mention this because it could make or break some games. If you and your friends decide to completely ignore the questions asked to you in the Job Job warm up rounds and put whatever batshit insane words you can think of. It comes out as legit the funniest jackbox game I think I’ve ever played and that’s not an understatement. I’ve played them all many times over and this game provided the most laughs our group has ever had playing these games. If your group likes edgy jokes and vastly inappropriate humor job job is PERFECT.

a strategy for Weapons Drawn is using letters like an L or I cuz they’re easy to hide cuz they’re just straight lines but keep away from letters like O cuz if the game has them drawn like a perfect circle i think it’ll be more obvious that it’s the letter unless you’re playing with artistsand easy to hid or you can hide a letter from someone else’s name in your drawing
@SomeTomfoolery
@SomeTomfoolery 3 жыл бұрын
You don't pick the letter, the game picks for you. However, the game does give you hand drawn looking letters, so for example, if you get an O it is not a perfect circle. We've had players drawn their own letters they looked convincingly like the letters the game provides.

Personally, I think me and my family would rank this pack highest. With Drawful being an old classic, The Wheel helping people who are horrible at trivia, Job Job helping people be funny who are flat out unfunny, Poll Mine being our favorite (even though we don’t use streamer mode), and Weapons Drawn filling a niece where everyone is getting the full experience (as I personally have played over 30 rounds of Push the Button and not ONCE being the alien). That is just our opinion though, and I can fully understand yours.

4 minutes into the Weapons Drawn explanation and I still can’t wrap my head around the game. Like, I understand generally what the players have to do: make a drawing with a random letter from your name, make up a name for an accomplice, select accomplices and drawings… but I don’t understand how all those intersect, or how you actually win the game? Like, when you explained that, by revealing you had Foul Magic’s, that absolved you of using that as a murder weapon, I would have assumed it worked the opposite way (although in retrospect, two different illustrations would obviously have to come from two different people). And I don’t understand the point of the accomplice naming if there’s no inherent traceability to it? Maybe I’ll be able to from it better after seeing the full segment, but it seems so needlessly complicated and hard to follow…

My favorite was job job and honestly, i think drawful animate was probably a contender for my least favorite. fooling people didnt feel satisfying because the prompts themselves are so random and nonsensical that it really just turns the entire game into random luck. for the wheel, even though i ended up winning, i feel the trivia is really difficult if youre not a big celebrity person. a lot of the questions were celebrity related and i failed so hard at those, one question was match the celebrity with their offspring. one person in my group got `1 of them and nobody else got any. the questions are so brutal. i much prefer trivia murder party where i actually had a chance at getting trivia questions correct. i enjoyed weapons drawn, it was a bit hard to understand but since we were all playing for the first time, we were all on an even playing field, i think the cursive needs to go though. Job job > weapons drawn > poll mine > wheel = drawful animate..

Uhhhh.... Why does weapons drawn need acomplices? Why can't you just have a score for killing and score for finding. When it was revealed, I thought it would be something along the lines of finding a motive among the pictures, and trying to connect it to a person, or, for some dumb reason, the victim having to draw a weapon, which hints at a person.
@2leftthumbs
@2leftthumbs 3 жыл бұрын
The victim drawing would be funny. But it'd be too easy to make something super obvious. The accomplice system is a little weird though, that's for sure. I haven't fully pinned down how I feel about that. I wish it was more transparent how the scoring worked. I have to imagine it's your position in each category that matters, not points within a category?

We played this today and gave our ratings 5th weapons drawn this was just boring and confusing it felt like a bad attempt at a social deduction game 4th Animate this one was pretty fun, however since my family isn't great drawers it just felt kinda mid, also most of the time you can tell the difference between the prompt and the answer we give 3rd polls this one had a lot of hype but it kinda failed as it was very one sided, also it felt like an advantage for whoever went first 2nd wheel this was our first experience and it was kinda confusing at first, the thing I like the most about this one is it felt like Mario party, one turn you could be in 1st and have a 500 point lead, next turn your in last and 1000 points away from 1st 1st job job this one made us laugh so hard it was really funny what happened with most of the answer it also had a lot of big comebacks as well For our first experience it went pretty well and would probably buy another pack merry Christmas

The Wheel was honestly my least liked game in the pack; it feels like the trivia side and chance-based side of the game do not mesh well together. If you're in it for the trivia, the chance-based element just creates so much empty downtime, and if you're in it for the goofy chance fun, then the trivia is what instead gets in the way, with there being potentially quite a few frustrating questions where you literally have no idea what any of the answers are at all (which quite a few members of my group experienced with them not really liking normal trivia games that much in the packs). It feels like a game that's okay for everyone which is why it's easier to get people overall more on board with it than other trivia games, but it's also a game that doesn't really excel for anyone either. I think Trivia Murder Party is just an overall much better game in terms of trivia, the overall theming/aesthetics, and the mini-games being a fun addition to break up the pace from just trivia rather than being something that takes up half the game and feels entirely out of your control. Funny enough, The Wheel was technically the most played game on the day I played the pack with my group, since new people were joining in and were curious as to how it played, but I think that if you give it some time, The Wheel's probably going to be considered the overall dud of the pack. Job-Job was definitely my favorite of the pack, everyone in my group absolutely loved it and it feels like a fantastic alternative to Quip-Lash with it feeling even more accessible than Quip-Lash for the reason you mentioned: it doesn't feel like you and everyone else have to be at the top of your wit game for it to be enjoyable. This might just be a symptom of me having played too much Quip-Lash like I have for Tee-KO (having played that game so often due to it being such a group classic that I have legit burned myself out of it) but a few of the games have just felt lifeless because it feels like the quips don't really land so it's just awkwardly waiting for the game to run its course. I think Job-Job really revitalizes the formula for me, and it was absolutely hilarious the two rounds we did it; I'm really looking forward to doing more of it with my group. Poll Mine definitely feels less approachable than something like Guesspionage. I feel like the questions don't really hold relevance that well at all, like the bagel question in your video, or the pirate question in my game. I honestly WISH I got a question similar to the "dancer" question you unfortunately got in your final round, because my final round was having to decide which pirate names were the least to most intimidating, when all of the pirate names were purposely made to be as shitty and unintimidating as possible; there were like 2 pirate names that people actually voted to the top which were extremely predictable, and then 6 names that we were all equally unvoted for. And then we had to try and find which one was 8th place, then 7th place, then 6th place, and so on in an extremely rigid order. So everyone was basically just stabbing around in the dark, talking and yelling over each other to pick 4 different doors that they all pretty much held equal inconfidence in, which created an especially bad taste in one of our group members' mouths. I want to give the game another chance, but I definitely feel like it's going to be a hard sell for group members when we can just play Job-Job or Weapons Drawn. Maybe it'd be better if you were able to make your own prompts similar to Quip-Lash so that you don't end up with those shitty questions I mentioned and only ones that would be fun for your group setting? Speaking of Weapons Drawn, I was honestly really surprised when you talked about Weapons Drawn being unapproachable and long. It felt like it had a pretty good pace outside of the last "Cold Cases" bit where it went by a bit too fast, but I think we'll be better at it in future games. And sure, you might not necessarily pick up on every single rule the first time around to get it (my group and I didn't know about the types-of-weapons rule you mentioned), but I don't really think you NEED to know every individual little rule to have a fun time, it was easy enough for us to pick up on the necessary basics and we went from there well enough. Honestly, something like Bidiots was something I was way, way more confused with the first time playing it, and it doesn't really feel like it has as much going for it on repeat playthroughs as the other great Jackbox drawing games, including this one. I played one round with 7 people on Discord, and we had an absolutely stellar time with it; it didn't feel like a "dummy round" or an overwhelming round at all. If it weren't for Job-Job being so good (and people joining in mid-way wanting to try out The Wheel once before we stopped for the day), we would've gladly played more of it. I didn't end up playing Drawful: Animate since my group has played a lot of GarticPhone in the past and much preferred trying out the new games instead, and we already had Weapons Drawn in the pack as a drawing game. The one thing I wonder is if the second picture might slow down the pace too much, but since you didn't mention it, then it's probably not that big of an issue?

To answer your pinned comment separately... I think some of your personal opinions did drag on for a bit. While it is good to share your thoughts/opinions, the role as a reviewer is to be objective. There will be people who enjoy certain games on a subjective level - for instance, I know someone who actually enjoys Zeeple Dome - but when you view the game through the objective scope is when you know whether it is any good or not.
