I would like to say in defense of Roomerang, during the tutorial the host does say that you can use your trait in your answers, or completely ignore it all together, following the trait isn’t dead necessary you could just ignore it and treat it sort of like a reality TV version of Quiplash, and in that aspect I think its one of my new favorite jackbox games. The traits I would like to believe are Jackbox’s solution to playing this game as a streamer or an audience you don’t know, so the other participants have something to go off of and its not just random, but if you’re playing this game with close friends as previously mentioned you could just ignore the traits and have fun with it.

I'm happy for anyone who enjoys it. And it seems like there are quite a lot of people who do! It's *really* going to come down to the group you're playing with. But in my experience, people only rewarded/punished each other based on usage of the traits. And I found that without utilizing the traits, it's literally just - type 5 things - then gang up on someone rather arbitrarily. And in that case, I'd rather play Quiplash.

I ADORE the brand new coat of paint Fibbage got. It reminds me of fever dreams I've had, the uncomfortable feeling of weirdness and confusion also made for a mesmerizing and interesting feeling while playing. The skull with cat legs, the pufferfish, all the wild and zany times. If I had to pick a favorite, I've been adoring Junktopia. It makes you think about a humorous idea to the wacky item you're handed, and that has lead to a LOT of bangers.

I was hollering at my screen during the last bit about your hopes for Party Pack 10. A Jackbox sequel pack has been on my mind for YEARS, and the lineup you chose was spectacular. I will say though, that since TMP2 is such a complete project in my eyes, a threequel would have to do something very different in order to be interesting. Same with Quiplash. But Bidiots 2?? My GOSH!! A man can dream. Great review!
@jamesdominguez76852 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think Quiplash 3 was a bit too recent for another sequel to be needed yet, and it's SO GOOD that I don't know how they could improve on it. Bidiots, to me, always felt like a great idea that just never quite lived up to its potential. Civic Doodle is similar. Both could benefit from a sequel/reboot that keeps the core ideas but improves the flow of gameplay.
@kiji42832 жыл бұрын
I think what makes roomerang so fun isn’t because you stick to the same thing. It’s because you build your own little story with your character, creating relationships between others based on their roles. If you stick in your own little answers bubble it won’t be fun. It’s about bouncing off others. But I understand why you didn’t like this game and a lot of the things you mentioned would have been tons of fun. But roomerang is definitely one of the best jackbox games to date, but I understand why some wouldn’t like it, especially if you don’t like roleplaying.

Solid set this year. Definitely the favorite for me is Quixort though I wish you could toggle off the trash mechanic especially for the tougher prompts. Nonsensory is amazing though I personally don't care for the drawing prompts especially with the line smoothing filter which can mess with your drawing. Playing with just the writing prompts is ideal for me and will probably be the main way I play it with friends. Loved Junktopia personally even if the scoring system isn't the best. I would love to see a sequel that had a bit more variety in the types of items you can pick (there's a lot of old antiques in the mix which can get a bit samey or limiting). Roomerang could be great with the right group but it's middling for me. Fibbage is fibbage, still great.

My personal rankings: Fibbage 4: The best take on the original Fibbage formula. I really like the new question types and I agree on this final fibbage being my favorite. 9/10 Enough about you: This one was straight up disappointing with the final round removal. 7/10, go play pack 4’s version instead Roomerang: You don’t actually have to follow your given title as stated by the host, but I do agree that more could have been done with this one. Still alright, I love some little things here and there, 7/10 Junktopia: Patently stupid but you don’t draw your prompt. I can’t find a reason to play this over that. 4/10 Nonsensory: This hits close to home for me as I really enjoyed guesspionage, so this one is really fun for me. It’s simple but you can do so much with it. 10/10, one of my new favorites Quixort: I’ve only played this on stream and 2 people on my team went afk, resulting in us losing by 300 points. I don’t feel it’s right to rank this one, N/A out of 10 Overall, I think I do like pack 8 more, but Nonsensory is amazing and it’s nice having a new Fibbage game. But thats only if the other players care for people fitting their character

I usually don't mind the injoke thing. But it always depends on the group. I've played with some people who make great callbacks, spaced out wide, that never carry over to the next time we play (because it's usually spaced out by several months). But I've definitely played with people who will farm the same joke 100 times in a night, when it stopped being funny after the 3rd time. Maybe that's part of why I dislike Roomerang? It's basically designed to encourage the worse version of JackBox injoking

Roomerang is decent but it got unenjoyable to play as how you explained it with the way the rounds are done but I would not mind a Roomerang sequel to flesh things out because its concept I really love. Fibbage 4 is just old fibbage nothing else to say really but the new art style is👌. Junktopia has been great but the presentation mechanics definitely need a rework. Nonsensory is simple that it just works, some people in my group have said it gets boring but maybe with the right atmosphere with more people that could change. Quixort is one of my favourites in this pack by far, I have no negatives for it! Also while not important the art style for the pack feels off it says to me that it is a party pack but it doesn’t feel like a “jackbox” party pack and for the art style for party pack 10 I was thinking it could be all the characters in the Jackbox universe celebrating the milestone of a tenth pack.

I will say, while I never played Quixort, I watched my friends play it and it didn’t go so well. When the teams were drawn one person was upset he wasn’t on the other team with his friends so he refused to play the game as intended, putting the blocks in places he knew were wrong or just not moving them at all. At the second round some of the other teammates on that team decided that they weren’t going to win and decided to stack the blocks in the center and called it a day. There was basically 2 people playing against a full team. I’m not saying the game is bad, just that it really depends on who you play with because that left a bad taste in my mouth watching it. Not to mention sometimes the prompts are too vague and it’s hard to figure what they mean. The same team struggling had the prompt “sort the members of the Avengers from weakest to strongest” and so they took it in the sense of what power they have when really the game asked how physically strong they are, ignoring powers

@@2leftthumbs I see, in my opinion it's the only pack without a weakness. Fibbage, Monster Seeking Monster and Survive the Internet are all 5 star games to me covering Deception, Write an answer, Competitive, and Trivia categories. Civic doodle isn't my favorite drawing game but I like it nevertheless and completing pictures is a fun premise to me. Bracketeering is kinda the weakest but it can still be very fun with larger groups. And for relevancy, only Fibbage 3 is outdated now with the introduction of Fibbage 4 but the design athmosphere in 3 is still great to me. All other games are still unique, latest versions and none requires face to face / presentation need that a lot of the later packages go for in some games.

Honestly I found no sensory to be one of the boringest Jackbox games i have played. I'd rather play bracketeering any day of the week

Tip: don’t get this game on steam if you have a Mac, it just crashes.

Alright here was my pre game ranking going into it 1. Roomerang 2. Junktopia 3. Fibbage 4 4. Nonsensory 5. Quixort I have only played Nonsensory so far, and let me tell you, this game blows. If your friends arn't competent enough to give good answers or drawings then it is just boring and arguing. By far one of the worst ones I have played. I have only watched a streamer play Roomerang and it was really good and I'm excited to play it with my friends Edit: Quizort actually was pretty fun besides the slow pacing of having to watch the other players

I don't understand how you find Nonsensory boring with competent friends. Wouldn't good answers make the game better? What are you arguing about? For us it's definitely the best game of the pack, especially for those prompts in the 30% to 70% range where you have to write or draw something in between the two extremes.

@@zwergesel Agree to disagree alright? Also the host was really annoying
@zwergesel2 жыл бұрын
@@enforcer2007 Sure, I guess. I'm not saying you have to like the game, I was only curious why you said competent people make the game worse. It made me think people may have been cheating by just typing/drawing the answer or maybe you misunderstood a rule or something?

@@zwergesel oh just realized I meant people that are not competent 😂

Imagine for pack 10 they do 10 games. 5 being sequels. I doubt it, but that'd be nuts. As for 5 sequels I guess I'll bandwagon and comment my picks and write essays on why. /// Quiplash 4 /// - Same schtick but with new final rounds like usual /// Trivia Murder Party 3 /// - Same schtick but more interesting minigames and some old ones too still (Chalices slap) /// Earswax /// - Hear me out (hehe), this game, but with the ability to make a sound library. Like record your own sounds for at least a game. Logistically not sure how it'd work without everyone hearing everyone making noises but at least have better sounds. Or just record and save sounds that you want, give them names and the game will pull from them, that'd be fun! Wouldn't be the star game but at least be better than the original. Would like to see improvements on the only sound based game, I think it's possible! /// Survive the Webpocalypse /// - Sequel to Survive the Internet, but with an automated voice that reads the punchlines (fits with theme) so you don't have to read a long punchline in time before the game moves on. Also clearer round types. Would love to see this one come back! /// Patently Stupider /// - Basically, three rounds, scrap the last round of the original or at least make it the first round, so the game gets better as you go, and better drawing tools I guess. Other than that, it's already perfect! Ok argue with me thx byee :>
