The Jam live at their absolute best. Was a Jam fan at at an early age and was unlucky to never see them live...their music stands the test of time. Paul Weller at his best ...

Much better than the wallpaper music he makes now.

Was not there! 13 years old, but a follower during all the 70ies/80ies... That's pure energy an melodic instinct! One of the graetest acts ever oii... Eckhard from Germany

For a band that didn't get on too well offstage they certainly had amazing chemistry onstage.

Still Amazing.... We were soooo lucky to have these gigs as kids!!! 13 year's old with mates..traveling into the city altogether...no chauffer driving mams and dads to drop us off and pick us up at the entrance....cramped in together...sharing each other's sweat...watching the heat exude from our bodies...Jam programme destroyed with moisture..Jam shoes stood a over and in front of us The Best Band in The Whole Fucking World!!!!... Coming out soaking wet...exhausted...sharing a bag of chips... running from the Skins trying to get the last train home...and all for just 3 quid a gig ticket...Thank you life... 'oh wasn't it such a fine time!!!'

I was at this gig , I got to go for my 14th birthday it was the 4th time I'd seen them live . Saw them 7 times but this was their best ever gig .

Everyone one from row looks they're on speed lol I was 6in 1984. Remember my elder cousins and his mates on vespas Parkers. He said he went seeing the jam after Weller left and it was lifeless

redordead7771 This was October 1980 and we went up to Newcastle on the metro . Too young for a scooter then . We didn't need speed it was just the atmosphere at their gigs, never experienced anything like it since . Best live band ever.

@@Mod-rw9cw love 3 piece bands. Seen weller live in 90s twice at apollo in Manchester. Absolutely spot on live. I delved back into the jam and just blown away by the lyrics written by a young Weller. Best English songwriter of all time for me. Did you get in the sound check in Newcastle?

I was 13 when i heard the Jam live at the Rainbow theater in 1979 on the "BBC rock hour." On a local radio station here in Chicago. Musical 🎼 mind officially blown. That black kid on the south side is 57 now, and love it still.

God Weller really let's go on Eton Rifles. I once had a ticket to see The Jam in Brum, but missed my bus from Wiltshire! Then I I did catch a part of their gig in Camden. Oh and saw BF play with SLF twice. End of my boring anecdotes.

Thanks for the download my friend. I watched the Jam in concert on this tour in Liverpool and this was their magnum opus. Live performance never got better than this. Years later Weller stated in an NME Modfather review (2011?) of his work that Going Underground was his finest song. I disagree and would always say it's the Eton Rifles which is here performed magnificently. Sublime. Thanks again.

What a great contribution to music the jam made and Paul going on to produce music that is up there with the Beatles
