Love this for Marwa! I can tell you're enjoying my country so much 🇯🇲 . Jamaica has this mystic on foreigners whenever they visit that keeps them coming back. Though I am of mixed heritage and Jamaica's motto, out of many one people - our culture, language and vibes has been predominantly shaped by our African ancestry. That is what draws people to Jamaica. I'm laughing at the American girl's accent. What is this version of patwa? To answer one of your questions, Jamaica had many slave revolts. When the slaves kept rebelling, refusing to work on the plantations in Jamaica, the British rulers brought in Indians, Chinese, and Germans to work as indentured servants. They worked for food. Later, the Jews, Syrians, and I believe the Irish, etc. came. Everybody pretty much blended in… many intermarriages resulted. That is why the Jamaican motto is “Out of Many, One People,” which means, out of many nationalities, races, etc., we are one Jamaica. Most Jamaicans are predominantly Black/African, but it’s not uncommon to see families with almost everybody mixed with something other than African. As a predominantly Black Jamaican, I have a Syrian great great grandmother… I also have cousins mixed with Indian. I lived in communities with Chinese… went to school with people mixed with Caucasian… but I never saw them as different. I just saw us all as one. We had the same accent and ate the same food… listened to the same music, did the same dances, etc. It’s when I moved to the U.S.A. that I started noticing differences. It felt so strange.

Jamaica is such a unique country the culture fascinates people from around the world. Your 100% correct It's that mix of people that has shaped Jamaica culturally. One thing many African Jamaicans & people around the world do not realize had it not been for that 10/15% of indentured Indians, Chinese, Irish, Middle East, Jamaica would not be the country it is today, not to be offensive J.A. would probably be similar to a country like Haiti...From the evolution of the Jamaican music industry, food, fashion, beauty queens, cultural mix, academia the list goes on, that is due to the cultural mix or the 'Out Of Many One People' demographic population...If you focus on Indian Jamaicans alone many many thousands & that include families have relocated/migrated abroad or passed away. Jamaica's demographic look visually today is different to what it was 50/60/70/80/100 yrs ago when there was far more Indians/Chinese/Irish etc. in Jamaica...

Not all beaches in Montego Bay charge to get in. She was speaking of Doctor Cove Beach. But there is Dead End Beach and Harmony Beach that are free and nice. On 7mile beach in Negril you can run in to lots of tourist as well, depending on where on the 7miles of the beach that you are. Love Jamaica💚🖤💛
