My Blaster had the same issue, turns out the oil pump wasn't consistent enough to feed oil and smoked my top end. I wouldn't trust it, cap it off and mix it.

Yes sir! We just picked one up…needed a top end….so I asked the previous owner if he used it 😂 needless to say it’s now capped off
@GameMen100003 жыл бұрын
Did you bleed it and did your throttle cable have the correct slack, or lack there of? I don't mean at the accelerator, I mean at the pump it self. They're actually quite good, as long as you use good oil and make sure it never runs out, and if it does, bleed it, it keeps the mix at the correct ratio for any given rpm.

@@GameMen10000 blocked my oil pump off I run caster 927 32:1 just recently took my top end off just for the hell of it and after 2 extremely hard years hundreds of hours that top end was absolutely perfect never had that kind of luck with oil injection on my blaster

I just did a blaster project myself. You should deffinetly do the TORS system delete and the oil pump delete and mix the gas 32:1. They run so much better that way. I also successfully deleted my ignition completely because the previous owner lost it over the 7 years it sat next to his barn and didn't run. Fully rebuilt my engine too

The mystery cable is a parking break you can toss it you have the shorty break cable so you can just pull it off 👍 also when you took apart the caliper that white tab is adjustable so you can set the pressure on the pad if you pull the whole thing out you can screw the little stub all the way back the white dial ratchets down to set the depth just a little fyi I had to play with it a bit on mine 👍

Youre an inspiration for my wrenching! but i have a question and need help! i have a 97 RT180, its my favortie bike, it runs well and goes through all gears, although feels as though the kickstart doesnt have much pressure when i kick it. do you believe it has low compression? also, the factory paint is on many of the bolts on the bike such as fork hardware and engine mounting hardware, indicating it hasn't been rebuilt. if so should the entire case be split? or begin with taking the jug/head off and start by checking rings? what would you begin with? thanks!

Did you spray the base gasket of the cylinder? Maybe no air filter is giving it too much air also but i doubt that. I remember riding that same style purple blaster with my best friend growing up. It was new back then though. It's a ripper!!
