Well, I do play classic rock, hard rock and classic metal (think Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Van Halen etc. etc.) but I would never click off your videos because I really enjoy your reviews and the sounds you get. I can appreciate all kinds of tones from classic to modern. Keep up the good work. Hope you had a great summer vacation. Just got back from mine and can’t wait to get back in the swing of playing

OD1+2 are identical on the HJS..the Gainknobs are way more more useable compared to the regular JVM. The EQs react different and the Resonance and Presence too. Way fuller/fatter and less brittle. Just avoid to use the midshift button. Also this Amp handles Overdrives way better. I know you dont care about clean tones but on this one every clean mode stays clean where ever you set the gain knob. The crunch channel on the regular JVM sounds like shit to me...on the HJS the Crunch channel alone is worth buying this Amp. The built in gate is the best built in gate i ever tried...way better then the one on the Invective or all the Engl Amps out there.

The JVM410 C83 mod is the just like the EVH 50 watt el34 mod...remove C83 completely & solder an 1uf or 0.68uf cap parallel to the R97 for the plexi mod... Also you can do the negative feedback mod by replacing R58 with a suitable resistor. JVMForum gives these guidelines on what values to use for what effect: R58 = 47k -- late '60s Plexi R58 = 74k -- early '70s MkII Plexi R58 = 82k -- stock JVM R58 = 137k -- EVH's Plexi R58 = 176k -- JCM800 2203 R58 = 177k+ -- a Marshall with almost a Vox's lack of headroom in the power amp

I do own this amp, and I love it. I play lots of genres, pop, funk, disco, alternative, classic Rock and everything in-between. I spent years trying to get fender cleans and marshall dirty In one amp, and for me this does it. The clean channel is up there with many fender amps. This video was really useful to me. Even after using and gigging with this amp for the last 6 years. To see it being used in a completely different way to how I'm used to using it. I will be checking out some of the settings you were using. You are an awesome musician my friend, clearly you have great knowledge of your craft and equipment. Keep doing what you do.

I like how this amp has the 4 individual threshold settings per channel that can come really handy also an idea you can do for the problem with the presence is use A parametric EQ in the effect Loop. I use a Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8 to send Dry preamp/poweramp blend to stereo fx. Sent to stereo Two Notes Torpedo Cab M plus IR DI boxes and additional amps for wet/dry/wet. I think this amp is a really cool design.

Had this amp when it first came out. The Crunch and Clean channel voicing improvements are where this really shines over the regular JVM. I wasn't really impressed with the OD channels for heavy riffs. If they reissued it and made the mid shift actually scoop more of the mids it think it would make it much more versatile.

Kyle my man, thanks for referring to it as a the Marshall snarl. That’s what I’ve called it most of my life but on forums, it was commonly referred to as the Marshall “growl”. I know it’s pedantic, and I hate getting bogged down with words, but I think snarl is much more accurate because Marshalls are known for highs and mids, so snarl makes more sense, whereas growl is more in the lower frequencies. So, does anyone know, is the built-in gate the same one from the KFK signature head (same one the Fortin Zuul is based on)?

The JVM design is so weird . They took the bashing roar out . It just doesn’t open like even a TSL. The next flagship amp they make needs that back . It’s still a good amp but the bark was highly missed

@@belligerentamateur this isn't guitar related I've been looking at buying a mountain bike and I saw you commented on a mountain bike video. How bad are the big box store bikes like Walmart target etc? Would I be better off going to a bike shop and buying used? Just using the bike for rides around the neighborhood and light trails on a forest preserve. Nothing crazy.

@@sho-nuffmadrigal6857 Hey dude, some of the newer Wal Mart bikes aren't bad at all. I highly recommend the Kent Trouvaille. Nice bike out of the box that doesn't need anything to handle what you want it to do!

For anyone interested, it's supposedly pretty easy to mod the "stock" JVM into this. Quick google search. They didn't change much (besides having the noise gate in place of reverb), apparently a lot of the difference is just that it comes biased hotter.

Not true, there are big changes to the PCB. The remote switching circuit is also much updated.

What @Jacob said. I've owned both, and they are completely different inside. And it's NOT biased hotter at all 😂
