The golf balling port job is sick! 😷 Hand built engine master!
@PredaFran2 жыл бұрын
it does look sick but sadly it does not do anything. have yet to see any proof of it doing anything or any actual motorsports team using it.

@@TravisAndrew1 Watch PFI Speed dyno Phongs ported and dimpled cylinder head and make more power, than non dimpled. I can see why Phong would continue to do so, seeing the result he once had. Although I would tend to agree with you.
@PredaFran2 жыл бұрын
@@tpop8172 if it ever did anything it would be used in motorsports, but it never has cause it is useless. They copy it from a golf ball but forget the golf ball is TRAVELLING and PUSHING through a medium. While the air charge in an engine is being sucked in by a vacuum in an uneven surface, at different engine speeds. So it doesn't work
@ryanwilliams18392 жыл бұрын
i think its so the fuel and air can still mix after being polished as its not direct injection

This is an example of how to put together an engine. VERY meticulous, and checking, and RE-checking things as you go. Some of the guys that Phoong hangs out with can learn a thing or 10 from his work/preparation. All the best with the suspension my by Phoong!

I hand lap the valves and hand ported the cylinders heads on my Honda CRF450R and CRF250R motocross bikes. We would also hand cut the deck on the cylinder and head surfaces with a thick piece of glass and fine sandpaper.

A drill, an extra valve, painters tape, super glue and lapping compound. Chuck the extra valve into the drill, put tape on the valve that needs lapped and the valve in the drill. Super glue the faces of the valves together. Add lapping compound. Turn the drill on and then slowly push the valve into the seat with LIGHT to no pressure. Let the weight do the work. I finish with polishing compound.

The reason your having trouble starting it is when you start a nitro car you have to put some 120 octane race gas down the throttle body to get it going, and the last time I saw valves seated by hand was when I built my last race engine

Lacquer thinner poured in the port is a great way to test valve sealing in an assembled head. Better than a compression test when you have big cams and or high piston & ring clearances.
